HELL YEAH.

I love "Jump."

Bought the Warner Remasters re-release of MCMLXXXIV to hear that song (and the full album) in the clearest HQ sound on the market. It's that classic of a track.

Have you checked out the full 1984 album perchance? I love "Drop Dead Legs" -- that song kicks my ass. "Top Jimmy," "I'll Wait," "Panama," "Hot For Teacher" -- all top notch. Eddie's guitar work on HFT and Top Jimmy is CRAZY. It's a straight-up rock album but with dancefloor sensibility. I love it. One of my fave albums from the '80s.

Good album, but I don't like it as much as I used to. Still, Panama and Hot for Teacher are hot! Still love those

I saw them in the NW two weeks ago with David Lee Roth. Incredible! They were always my favorite band. Van Halen and Prince. Jump is a great song and if you can sing the lyrics to Diry Mind along to it and vice versa eek These guys were the funkiest rock band ever. Well okay Grand Funk Railroad and Led Zeppelin were to. I agree with Mara about Drop Dead Legs. Those guys had so much swagger and attitude and they looked like they were enjoying themselves. That's what's missing in rock music today. Nobody smiles neutral

If you're into synthisized-driven, dance/party-based music, a lot of it will appeal to you. Especially Side A. "I'll Wait" is dated and synthy as hell, but that's EXACTLY what I want.

I'll take it a step further and say if you are into really synthy/pop-infected hard rock music that doesn't apologize for it, then look into this album.

I 100% agree with you on these points.

lol... I'm thinking of something Chris Rock said about David Lee Roth back in the '80s.

I'm a fan of VH, and actually dug this album, even with the synth sound.

Drop Dead Legs w/no synth's...rocks!.

headbang OW!

"Drop dead legs, pretty smiiiile,
hurts my head, gets me wild.
Dig that steeeam, giant butt,
makes me scream, I get nuh-nuh-nothing but the shakes over you,
And nothing else could ever do".

Jump is one of the best songs of the 80s. Eddie is a god. Panama is maybe even better

I must get round to buying the album "jump" comes off.

I know "Jump", but Van Halen are not popular over in UK, so its not likely I could buy said album in my local HMV.

I do like "jump", despite, from what I recall, having no chorus LOL

You really have to good if you can KILL Pretty Woman & You Really Got Me and make them your own. This was the fun VH while Sammy Hagar was the serious VH, I'll take Dave & Eddie all the time.

Yeah that synth solo is like one of Eddie's guitar solos.

It's really a great song. I was really anti-hard rock at the time, and that song became a guilty pleasure. It kind of showed me that "metal" bands don't necessarily have to be about posing all hard. Sometimes they just make good music.

If you like Jump you should check out their self titled debut which is a better album from top to bottom than 1984
