When's the last time MJ said "Shamon"? It used to be the shiznit to hear MJ scream "Shamon!"...maybe thats what he's missing from his music. I don't think I heard it on 'Invincible'.

I think he uses it in Unbreakable if I'm not mistaken. I'll dig out the CD and listen. [Edited 12/7/07 17:52pm]

If it doesn't have a screaming "Shamon!!" on it I'm gonna be pissed! i hope so too... and i also pray he stays clear of hip-hop influence music.. and hopefully he will have a retro old school sound to his music.... I wish he would make songs like "baby be mine" "PYT demo verson", "Lady in my life" and "can't help it"... those songs were so wonderful

I thought it was JAMON but chum on sounds dead on because that's the way Mavis used to do it: "Chum on, chum on, chum on..."

It actually is pronounced "chum on" but over time the fans have become to spell it "shamone". I think the "shamone" way of spelling it also comes from those bo selecta skits. http://youtube.com/watch?v=3o8rdNR5tmE

and in black or white
I noticed that on unbreakable, heartbreaker and invincible, which all followed the same structural pattern, threw in a trademark mj adlib, for the sake of it I feel. A 'whoo and hoo-hoo" on unbreakable, an 'ow' in heartbreaker and some 'hee-hee's' on invincible. Although they sounded good vocally, I just know they were thrown in, like they're convincing the listener "yes folks, this is a real mj song" lol Don't get me wrong, I like them though.

dangerous sounded borderline hip hop and turned out good in my opinion, even though I like the self penned songs on it better.

The majority was self penned. The only songs he didn't write were "Why You Wanna Trip On Me?" and "Gone Too Soon". [Edited 12/9/07 1:49am]

Mavis threatened to sue him so he had to cease and desist. "The first time I saw the cover of Dirty Mind in the early 80s I thought, 'Is this some drag queen ripping on Freddie Prinze?'" - Some guy on The Gear Page
