The Adventures of Mimi anyone... Has anyone purchased Mariah's new DVD - The Adventures of Mimi? I understand it's only available @ Best Buys...that doesn't make it any sense to me, but ok, whatever. I mean, doesn't it increase your sales if u can get it in as many stores as possible? I mean, since when did stores buy exclusive rights to sell something? That's like Kmart selling all of Martha Stewart products..

Best Buy usually releases one set each year but this year has had all sorts of deals with artists. Tom Petty recently released a documentary/concert through them and Justin Timberlake's HBO set is released through them exclusevily, too. I understand the Mariah thing is only temporary and in a few months you can buy it anywhere.

Well actually Universal/Def Jam has really nothing to do with this release at all. This is a deal with "Redline" which is Best Buy's company, this is the one that released "Rainbow Children" for Prince, its really mainly a distribution deal, this does work at big time for any artist that does it because of the % that they get. I picked it up today, and its a great show, i like the camera work they did with it, her voice sounds good, stronger than it has, and much stronger than on the Charmbracelet tour which is strange since this tour was almost double the amount of shows and this concert was late in the tour, usually an artist will film something early on before they wear down on a tour. I saw her twice on this tour and both times were really good mainy because i was really close to the stage and with her outfits and look thats where you need to be, but the dvd is very cool, full show, some documentaries, alot of interviews. Argh. I looked for it today but not at a Best Buy. I'll have to jump in the car and make a trek this weekend. I wish it were available everywhere like most other products. Been gone for a minute, now I'm back with the jump off

To be honest this was the first time i went into a Best Buy and bought anything, in this case i had no choice, ive stayed out of "big Box" stores mainly because having worked in a "real" music store it just isnt the same thing.
