Indeed. I had momentarily forgotten about that. disbelief

I'll still buy it of course, but it might end up being my least favorite Madonna album.

I know that I won't like it as much as 'Confessions'.That album blew me away!

She was on a real roll with American Life and Confessions. I'm super skeptical about this new album, but I hope beyond hope that I will be proved wrong.

The rule of thumb with any new Madonna album is: if you're expecting it to sound like the previous album, you will be disappointed lol This album won't sound anything like 'Confessions' or 'American Life'.

I wasn't expecting it to sound like Confessions. I was, however, expecting it so sound good. JT napalms good.

You may not like this record, then.Much of it was clearly inspired by the sound of 'FutureSex/LoveSounds'.

I'm buying this for sure, as I have most of madonna's albums, and feel that her current ones are excellent, and hopefully this album will continue that. I also like pharrell, timbaland and kanye, so hopefully the collaboration worked out great.

Madonna's new song 'so hot'
Posted: 01 December 2007

Madonna's new song with Pharrell Williams is so 'hot' it will 'make the music speakers bleed'.
The 'Hung Up' singer has been in the studio with hit producer Pharrell creating tracks for her upcoming album, and he claims their collaboration will take the music industry by storm.
Speaking at the launch of his new shop Billionaire Boys Club and Ice Cream in New York on Wednesday, Pharrell said:
'It was crazy. I don't want to say too much. I'd rather wait for you to hear it. It's awesome though. It makes the speakers bleed. It's hot!'
Earlier this month, it was reported Pharrell had been recording with the 49-year-old singer at Record Plant Studios in Los Angeles.
The pair reportedly bumped into Kanye West, who was working with Michael Jackson in a studio next-door, inspiring the hip-hop star to rap on one of Madonna's new songs.
Last month, Madonna signed a $120 million, 10-year record deal with Live Nation Inc. and plans to release her first studio album with the label early next year.
Also set to feature on the hotly-anticipated LP are star producer Timbaland.

So much for accuracy...She still owes Warners an album so this one will be her last for them. Working with MJ next door....indeed!

Me too. And from the report, I'm even less excited if she's so hot for Candy Shop that she wants it to be the first single. I was hoping that as work progressed on the album, that she'd realize this track was a complete dud and would replace it with something good. neutral

This sounds boring. shrug I'll give it a go, but I dunno. Not excited at all.

David, I'm curious why you're excited by any of this. Aside from the fact that it's Madonna, it has all the hallmarks of an album you'd otherwise ignore. I'd not dismissing it before I hear it, but even other Madonna albums that I ended up liking (Music, for example) had more of my interest when I heard the early details. This one? Not so much.

I get excited when any of my favorite artists releases a new album.I started a thread to discuss the listening party.I can't comment on how the new album sounds because (guess what?) I haven't heard it yet.But as a fan,I am eager to hear it.I like the rumors, the tracklist, the hype.I don't think there's anything unusual about that.

I'm aware you hadn't hear it and didn't think I implied otherwise. Of course, there's nothing unusual about looking forward to a new album by one of your favorites. It just seems like if this album were from somebody else, you wouldn't be as excited.

Eh, but whatever. Ignore me. I'm just being a snarky ass. I'll probably ending up making out to it on the first day of release and ending up with a whole slew of gaybies all courtesy of Give It to Me (The STD Song). I even love I'm Breathless, and everyone cacas on that one.

First Michael lost the plot, then Princey fell. Janet was next, but I thought Madge had escaped the curse... But everything I've heard about this album, every leak, every fake tracklisting, every "insider report" has made me ill. I can't believe Madge is deluded enough to think that

a)People will accept her fake British ass with an R&B album
b)the lyrics on these songs sound good.

Oh well, I guess this goes in the "Invincible", "20 YO", and "3121" pile. At least Brucey and Bono are still releasing worthy material shrug

lol You should know better than to expect original lyrics from Madonna. And as if to confirm her position as The Worst Lyricist With A Record Deal, she gives us this gem..."Hey girl, save the world". falloff

Agree completely. I couldn't bear to listen to that song a second time, a rarity with Madonna. (I usually can give each song a a few spins.) Doesn't bode well...makes me think of Prince going "Awwww, hell yeah. Greatest Romance. Number one with a bullet!"

Is that really the name of the album? confused That would mean there was a song called licorice (though the last album was the few times she called the album something different than a song on the album)

She has no idea about Hip Hip, this is not 'euro trash', Hip Hop as much as you guys may dislike it is more like 'Jazz' either you know it and can perform the material or you will come off sounding and looking bad,

its almost borderline Blaxplotation.

[Edited 12/4/07 0:48am]

Madonna is working with producers who do know hip hop (I am sure she does as well).

Hip Hop close to Jazz? Hardly. Hip Hop can have jazz elements but it's not even close.
