New Mya Feat. Jim Jones "Shake It Like A Dog"

Before hearing this song I was convinced that D4L's "Laffy Taffy" and Fergie's "London Bridge" were the worst songs I ever heard but I think i've changed my mind once again. This is quite possibly one of the worst songs i've ever heard in my life . I really don't see this catching on either, who is gonna walk around singing about "Shaking it like a dog"? What in the hell is Mya thinking? confused.

Well that's good to know! I thought it was going to be the first single from her new album.

No MYA's cd is only issued in Japan as a digital download, she has left Motown even before releasing it, as far as an album she has "liberation" and another called "Smoke and Mirrors" set for an indie release next year, possibly her own label.

I'm sayin'. Mya's actually beginning to annoy me a little bit. She has been squandering her talent for years now. She's no competition for the bigger pop chicks because she can't seem to find a direction and no competition for the R&B/soul chicks because she's not vocally on their level nor is her material mature enough to appeal to that crowd. Her writing is immature and after all of these years, she still hasn't found her voice. No one would hear a song and say "that sounds like something Mya would have done." That is probably her most detrimental failure in the business. Well, that and having so many rap producers work on her material. This song is definitely "throwaway" because its weak as water. I had hope for Mya because she has skillz but I'm not checkin' for her ass anymore. Holla at me when she has a hit.

There are alot of factors that go into MYA though, i dont think she is really too concerned with "music" anymore, i think she has had enough really of this business, from the issues that went on with "Moodring" which honestly if there were some decent people at Universal, they could have easily pulled 4 or 5 singles of her strongest record, but lets face it they couldnt even get "Fallen" played. One of the problems about MYA is that she is different, and the reason she cant compete in a field of Beyonces and Fergies, is that alot of her stuff is personal to "her" not to other people, which is something that Prince has made a career out of, but the thing is if you dont do something that everyone can indentify with than you wont be in that category, and also MYA doesnt have the look to fit in, i personally think she is HOT, but you can ask 50 different people, and hear a range of things from "ugly" to "Gorgeous", so that also is a factor. Like people say "she doesnt have that look of a pop star" which i will agree with, which is why Kelly Rowland would never catch on like that. I think MYA is more focused now on the other side of her career in Dance and Theater, i believe in January she takes over in CHICAGO on broadway and is doing some more movies, so i dont think she is really concerned with the status at this point, though the MOTOWN issue i think is going to end up in court because they are really trying to play her with that. As for the production side she needs to stop listening to labels, go indie and just do her own stuff, Motowns ideas of pairing her with Jim Jones and Lil Wayne as lead singles is just nonsense at this point, the best stuff on LIBERATION was done by her alone with no producer.
