I'm going to rescue this thread from the scrap heap and actually post a serious response.
I like Cradle Of Filth and Dimmu Borgir. Although whenever I listen to the latter I can't help but think "angry Popeye" after a critic used that term to describe the vocals.

I liked Xavion back in the day. Anyone remember them? In the video for "Eat Your Heart Out" That lead singer looked like he'd been smoking that Alexander O'Neal dope.

Both Cradle Of Filth and Dimmu Borgir recorded albums with orchestras so you sort of have the black and symphonic genres combined into one on those: Cradle Of Filth - Damnation and a Day (recorded with the Budapest Film Orchestra and Budapest Film Choir) Dimmu Borgir - Death Cult Armageddon (recorded with the London Philharmonic Orchestra) spelling [Edited 12/3/07 16:29pm]
