As a Michael jackson fan (especially back then), I went crazy for this song. I had recently pulled out the Victory album and listened to it again, this song was a quick toss off for an album Bichael really didn't want any involvement in. And it shows. It isn't horrible, lets just say it wasn't much effort. "POOR IS THE MAN WHO'S PLEASURES DEPEND ON THE PERMISSION OF ANOTHER" Madonna

No you didn't!! I'm trying to work, man!
Awww...skip it! I've got a mix of this on my Ipod. It's mixed with "Rain Forest" by Paul Hardcastle, that was done by the one and only Electrifying Mojo that's totally mind blowing!!

That sounds like a great mix. I like to mix the breakdown of the 12 Inch of "State Of Shock" and fade in the opening drums of the 12 Inch of Chaka Khan's "I Feel For You". Prince does. in fact, that cover looks just like those crap drawings that populate his record releases every now and then for the last decade or more. "Half of what I say is meaningless; but I say it so that the other half may reach you." - Kahlil Gibran

I have never liked this song that much. But I think this extended version is on the Ultimate Collection. "When Michael Jackson is just singing and dancing, you just think this is an astonishing talent. And he has had this astounding talent all his life, but we want him to be floored as well. We really don´t like the idea that he could have it all."

Michael Jackson should be the KING OF ROCK N ROLL... and POP...

I agree that it's kind of toss off and the lyrics are uninspired. But Michael Jackson's toss offs are still better than some of the best songs by today's artists.
I still bump it. | |

The song is crap, but for some reason,I like it It's one of those songs that is so bad that it's good.I always laugh at the elementary lyrics in the 2nd verse: You got me on my knees but please baby please I know you like to tease but please baby please You take it to me good like you know you should I love the way you walk talk baby talk

I love the song, but I prefer the version with Freddie Mercury on vocals. "Beauty is not in the face; beauty is a light in the heart." - Khalil Gibran

See, I didn´t even realize there was another version with Freddie. I thought it was just a duet with Jagger. Anyways, I´ve just listened to the beginnings of the songs and they seem identical. One of the few songs on the "Victory" album that I actually like! Michael's voice in it is just . He totally makes the song for me. "And When The Groove Is Dead And Gone, You Know That Love Survives, So We Can Rock Forever" RIP MJ
"Baby, that was much too fast"...Goodnight dear sweet Prince. I'll love you always

Freddie and MJ, had recorded a few things together that were meant for Victory. Most of it never saw the light of day, while others like, "There must be more to life than this", ended up on Freddie's solo works, minus Michael's vocals. Story is, right after doing State Of Shock", Michael and Freddie, had a falling out. So, Michael being the person that he is, had Freddie's vocals ereased and replaced. It was even said that when "Another one bites the dust", Freddie had called Michael and asked him what he thought of it, Michael told him that he like it and that he should release it. The rest is history. BTW, I have the original version of State of Shock, as well as There must be more to life than this. They both sound interesting. I do have There must be more to life than this. But I don´t know about the other songs. Thanks for the info. Here is an interview clip with Freddie from this era where he is talking about his collaborations with MJ and he also mentions that he was originally supposed to have a guest appearance on the Thriller album: http://www.youtube.com/wa...re=related
