Amy Winehouse cancels rest of her '07 concert dates, citing health at 20:16 on November 27, 2007, EST.
By THE ASSOCIATED PRESS Singer Amy Winehouse arrives at the MTV Movie Awards in Los Angeles, in this June 3, 2007, file photo. THE ASSOCIATED PRESS/Kevork Djansezian, file NEW YORK - Amy Winehouse has cancelled all concerts and public appearances for the rest of the year on doctor's orders. "The rigours involved in touring and the intense emotional strain that Amy has been under in recent weeks have taken their toll," said Winehouse representative Tracey Miller in a statement Tuesday. "In the interests of her health and well-being, Amy has been ordered to take complete rest and deal with her health issues." The decision by the 24-year-old retro soul singer comes "on the instruction of her doctor," the statement said. Her family asked the media to "respect Amy's privacy at this time." Winehouse's 25-year-old husband, Blake Fielder-Civil, was ordered held in custody in London earlier this month on charges stemming from a case in which he is accused of assaulting a barman in June. "I can't give it my all onstage without my Blake," Winehouse said in a statement provided by Miller. "I'm so sorry but I don't want to do the shows halfheartedly; I love singing. My husband is everything to me and without him, it's just not the same." She had been scheduled to perform in Britain and Ireland. Refunds will be given at outlets where the tickets were purchased. There are "no plans at the moment" to reschedule the dates, Miller said. Winehouse became a critics' darling with her second album, "Back to Black." But she has made headlines in recent months with her sub-par performances, health fears and reports of alleged drug use. In August, she spent time in rehab and cancelled a series of dates in Britain, the United States and Canada. - On the Net: Amy Winehouse: http://www.amywinehouse.co.uk/ ©The Canadian Press, 2007 Ohh purple joy oh purple bliss oh purple rapture! FINALLY! I'd love more than anything to see her career really take off but she needs to stop touring now and get a grip on her overall health. Good luck Amy! 2010: Healing the Wounds of the Past.... http://prince.org/msg/8/325740

OK, I'm kinda disappointed to see her giving her talent credit to her love for her husband. Um - xxxxxNO! Sorry, but you have a gift with or without him. But she was probably high as hell when she said that so I'll hope the help she gets clears her head of that false issue 2010: Healing the Wounds of the Past.... http://prince.org/msg/8/325740

Did anyone catch her at Hammersmith last Saturday?
She was terrible, the crowed were however on the whole supportive and cheered her on for much of the show hoping that she would get her shit together. But she got drunker as the night went on. I was really disappointed that she didn't do any material from her first album but chose to do some covers instead. why?

i hope she gets her self sorted out its such a shame her life is going the way it is she is truely blessed with such an amazing voice someone needs to sort her out cos its clear she cant do it for herself her management/family need to send her to rehab even if she doesnt wanna go sometimes in life you shouldnt be offered such choices and when she is clean send her to prince to make some good music (multiple benefits of going to minneapolis including being away from old group of 'friends', possibility of music from the 2 of them and maybe some spiritual talks would do her some good )
seriously i can see it going 2 ways at the moment, she manages to get herself sorted out or she wont be with us by the end of next year cos at the moment her life appears to ba spialing out of control whoever put the fact that they hoped she wouldnt be with us next year thats just plain sick and messed up how you could hope for someone to die between now and then is horrible With Love there is no Death

I think Timmy84's first reply to Anxiety saying that she probably won't last till the end of the year with a "I hope not" meant he hopes this doesn't happen, at least that's my interpretation.I think maybe Timmy84 should come back and clarify what he meant. Again I'm sorry for any confusion. I guess I thought the poster was saying "I don't think she's gonna make it" and I said "I hope not", I should've added: "I hope she goes to rehab and gets her head together." But I can understand how that can be misconstrued as to "I wish she was dead". I sure as hell wasn't saying that.

She obviously loves him and he probably inspires her in some way. She's not saying she CAN'T sing if he's not there, just that his presence inspires her to perform her best. What's wrong with that?

Well thank goodness . And I apologize to you getting all snippy-pernickerty with you about the miscommunication Now. That being said... Somebody finally put up the clips from the Italy show on Youtube! She was completely sober for about 3/4 of the show and was really in good form that night. I had work trips then and scored free tickets for 2 shows in Germany, and then Milan. Milan gave you some glimpses of "old" Amy before all this spiraling downward began. I'm guessing it's because her husband had allegedy left the tour & wasn't there fighting with her or hugging up on her by the side of the stage like they usually do (which is very disturbing to witness cause she always steps back to the mike like a hot mess) . But that's just my judgemental two cents Anyhoo... here's the opener, with her struttin' in like The Rose- "Addicted": http://www.youtube.com/wa...6p8Fl4t-nk "I Heard Love Is Blind"(w/only 1 vocal f***up) http://www.youtube.com/wa...r3AL4nGNmU "Just Friends" http://www.youtube.com/wa...kegu7njvgA "Some Unholy War"(If I remember correctly, there's good vocal coasting @ 2:00 ) http://www.youtube.com/wa...YQ6Rkicfnl yup...it was a good night...we had a lot of fun...hope that kid pulls through.

i'm glad shes taking a break. hopefully she can get rid of that gross co-dependency she has with her husband. not good. Her health is so much more important than the crazy-ass music business.

Oh chile, please. Ever since she got married all she does is blabber on publically about how she's nothing without her husband and she would die if she lost him. Add that on top of her new thing of "as long as I'm a good wife I don't need to sing anymore" crap, and frankly, all I see is some classic co-dependency 101 bulls*** that's robbing her of what used to be quite a prolific (though young) gift. Sorry, I agree with Supa on this one

When you put an album out with the Dap Kings as your backing band, you had better be able to hold your own live because the Dap Kings bring it. Until I see anything of this woman as a performing artist, she's a studio creation to me.
