Forgotten Jam of the Day: "Give It On Up" by Mtume I had completely forgotten about this song until they played it on "Soul Train" a few months ago and it is hard as hell to find. I remember loving the song back in the day but never knew who the artist was. I never dreamed it was Mtume. I had always thought "Juicy Fruit" was their first song. They should have continued making more jams like "Give It On Up", much faster and funkier.
Anybody into this one? Andy is a four letter word.

Hell yeah!
Its from this album, which is a blast from start to finish It also includes the fabulous gem So U Wanna Be A Star. This band's body of work is untouchable, not just Juicy Fruit. But everything from Kawaida in 1973 to Theatre Of The Mind in 1986.
