IT'S A CRIME THAT NO ONE GIVES CRED TO TORI AMOS 4 HER COVER OF LED ZEP'S "THANK YOU"

I listen at least a week to the Crucify EP. What really makes chaka mad is that no one gives props to the led zep cover! mad

Sounds like a victimless crime. biggrin What kind of credit does an artist earn for doing a cover? Extended encores in concert should suffice. cool

I'm not against covers. Sometimes another voice gives emotion and context that the original didn't have.

And as long as the artist brings something new to it to make it their own, what's the harm?

A huge chunk of 50's and 60's popular music was built on covers. shrug

Nor am I, that's why your hyperbole is based on a victimless crime. Got it?

I like this one a lot. I like most of her covers a lot. But on some of them, it sounds like she's taking the piss... either with the song or original artist, or her own style.

Yeah, it's funny. "Enjoy the Silence" is one of the all-time great songs and I just do not like her version of it.

Prince steals songs; just ask morris, wendy, andre, rosie and dez

I was dissapointed too but get over it.

Zeppelin are the best!

I love the lyrics of thank you.. obviously apart from that dumb 'no more be sad' line.

I know the chord progression is based on another song but the way zep did it was great.
