This is a clever move.

He's playing to his strength to get back in the mainstream. We all know how good the album is, so he gives it a modern twist to gain interest from the younger generation.

If he's got any sense, he'll make the new Billy Jean a single and get out and promote it.. Good songs never die. Fresh perspective gets airplay.

I don't think so. I don't believe he will ever get the audience he's aiming for since invincible.

Not on his own, but with Kanye, he has every chance. This is how to get his foot back in the door. A Beefed up Billy Jean will go down a storm in every club across the world.

disbelief I think this project is just gonna make him look desperate, like he's living in the past, unafraid to move on.I hate when artists re-record their old songs.

Are they fucking serious with that DVD?! Not 1 second of something that ISN'T already comercially released on DVD?! Are they seriously expecting people to get excited about this?

Exactly my sentiment. Again confirming my hunch that this is targeted specifically to young people (non-fans) who do not have Thriller. neutral

I'm just saying, it just makes it seem like the only reason he's putting this out was to say "hey I'm getting too old for this but this is what happened when I was young" almost like he IS saying "goodbye" but he keeps on giving you these mixed signals: "oh I'm working on something right now" AND HE COULD VERY WELL BE but who knows? And also it sucks when your own publicist has to deny every little thing you're rumored you're doing.

In all hindsight, if Michael wants to let people know WHO he is, he is best to reunite with his brothers and do the reunion. MAYBE going back to THAT side of the past can give him SOME inspiration in the future as it used to 28 years before, ya know?

Ok,I hear what you're saying.Maybe he should just embrace the past and rest on his past glories. It's not as if he has anything new and exciting to offer, anyway.

If the Jackson Five reunion happens, I think a lot of people will be pleased, including me.

And who knows about what will happen with this release? If SONY is planning a good promotion.... It should be interesting to observe how the younger generations react.

You know what? I don't think that MJ was really working on a "new album" after all.He was simply working on these 'Thriller' special edition tracks.I feel bad for the fans who were expecting a new album.

Yeah, I don't mind because Squirrel Meat has a good point but Michael needs to stop sending mixed signals if he's really into embracing his gloried past.instead of saying "you ain't seen nothing yet" for the future. I can't quite say this at MJ's boards because they might tear my legs apart. lol
