Paul from MJNO is now compiling feedback and responses to Sony.....and alot of it ain't positive lol

Hopefully, they'll add more on to the collection.

Here's the pictures:

DAMN! The pictures are cool! The ONLY positive thing I can (so far) write about this upcoming release. I hope SONY and MJ will listen to the fans and make changes before the release date.

I am becoming more and more convinced that this release is targeted to teens who do not have Thriller. biggrin Hence, the shitty compilation.

what is it about wil.i.am and akon ill that mj finds so appealing, they are terrible imo. im sure epic could have found some better artists to celebrate the 25th anniversary of thriller, it might have been kinda cool to have the thriller album performed by other artists

I oughta kick Sony and MJ's asses for this, lol. But I wasn't gonna buy it with a list like that. I can celebrate the 25th anniversary of "Thriller" by playing the album I bought...ONCE.

Thats who he should aim it at.

What makes him more? A couple of hundred thousand sales to die hards buying up the tenth re-release, or pitching it to sell another million to the next generation who have never owned it, but heard of its legend?

I do feel it's a ploy to bring in the kids because of who they got under it. It's just disappointing that they couldn't please the older audience, which I'm now a part of.

Same with me! I'm 20 but rarely listen to today's music.

There are fans on MJNO who are defending Akon. Hell, a couple of people even called him and Kanye....geniuses lol

You should see what some people are saying on MJJC... it's MJJF 2.0 for those who don't know, and one of them said "who cares about the internet fans, this is something MJ and Sony are doing for celebration"... I looked at that comment like hmm . lol

That's exactly what they're saying on MJNO! But then again...MJNO and MJJC are joined.....

here is what some fans have said:

-I love Akons Wanna be startin somethin!!!!! Cant wait to hear Kanye's Billie Jean!!!

The new single that is going to come out will be out maybe a week or two then before the release of the full package?

-----
An album like Thriller (the worlds biggest selling album of all time) didn't earn this kind of 'humiliation'

IMO Thriller is a Michael Jackson album, the 25th Anniversary edition of it then it should be STILL a Michael Jackson album and noone's else.

But if others want to celebrate 'The King of Pop' with their own cover versions then you can't call it still Michael Jackson's Thriller. As I said in my previous post you can call it e.g. 'Various Artists Celebrating Thriller' or something similar

-----

Why do some of you think Michael is making the anniversary edition just for you? LOL
Its not just aimed at fans, its aimed at everyone, I think thats why they have included the remixes by Akon, Kanye and Will.I.Am, to open Thriller upto a whole new audience

And also, no1 is making you buy it, Sony arent ripping YOU off if YOU dont buy it, so just shut up!!!!
I cant wait for the release, this is really exciting , and something to look forward too
-----

excited! guyz stop complainin lol! but it 2 support thriller! lets make the sells go throught the roof!
-----
This is something I don't like. Billie Jean is like a Holy Anthem and if you ask me, no one is allowed to sing it on a Michael Jackson album, but Michael himself. Even though it'd be Kanye West, and I know Michael appreciates him very much, still....
-----
The Good:

On one hand, I do agree that re-releasing Thriller IS A GOOD IDEA. Why do I say this? If Michael has any plans of going on tour or releasing an album of new material in the next year, then this will remind people of the "music" side of Michael Jackson. It will finally stop people from talking about the negative part of Michael, and get the press discussing the new project.

Good Publicity
Reminding the public how great thriller was
Setting the stage for a possible bigger release (new album, tour, etc)
By allowing artists such as Kanye West, Akon, and William to take part, Michael is making Thriller modern which I am willing to bet will earn Michael even more new younger fans!

The BAD

I will admit, other songs would have been better suited for this release, such as HOT STREET, TROUBLE, NITE LINE, GOT THE HOTS, etc. We already have Carousel, and Someone In The Dark
the DVD needs to be filled up with more then just 25 minutes of material. Why not add interviews, making of, concerts, promotions that ran, special insight by top music industry experts, hell....WHY NOT LET MICHAEL SPEAK ON THE DVD AND TALK ABOUT HIS FUTURE...now that would spice it up I bet.

-----
Pity and a missed chance for MJ...

-----

calling Kanye West stupid made me laugh!! The man is a genius!!
Have you even heard the song Akon and Kanye have covered? Out of all the other artists that pay tribute to MJ would you rather see? Chris Brown who kisses ass and is a wannabe!?! Im glad Kanye West and Will.I.Am have had something to do with this because they would of made great remixes

-----

I'm very disapointed of the bonus tracks. Who cares about those poor remixes ? I prefer more unreleased tracks (in addition to For All Time) like Hot Street, Got The Hots...
-----

that's just the MJNO board....KOP is pretty different lol

LOL @ a Dangerous out-take on Thriller 25. What bullshit. This is such a fucking rip off. Give the fans something. Come on Mike. We aint gonna wait around forever. If you got nothing new. Just say so and sit your tired ass down instead of going around telling everyone you are making new shit. It doesn't take two years do a few third-rate remixes of CLASSIC songs. How dare Akon and will.i.am even go near songs like PYT and WBSS. I was happy with everything Michael has been doing, until this press release came out about Thriller 25. The bullshit isn't even being released this year. This year is the 25th anniversary of Thriller. Hurry the fuck up. Release it now or don't release it at all. It's not acceptable. Pull your fucking head in Mike! Go back to Sony BMG and tell them this is the new tracklist for Thriller 25...

Now that's a respectable two-disc celebration of the best-selling album of all time!

Or better yet release the "Victory" tour on DVD and put it around there on the DVD.

You could add "Love Never Felt So Good" on disc one. It's actually a great unreleased song of his.

I don't think Michael knows some of his fans. I don't mope and whine but if something's a miss, I'm gonna talk out my ass about it. Shit, if George Michael had wanted to do a 20th anniversary re-release of "Faith" (which is probably not in his cards anyway, lol), he would've had a better list than what Michael/Sony have for "Thriller 25".

It's more like a Dangerous out-take that Michael and Sony don't think anyone knows about so they're trying to pass it off as a Thriller out-take. I could be wrong but I've never heard of it being from the Thriller era. Until this tracklist came out I've never heard anyone say anything but it's an out-take from Dangerous.
