It's so good, and I have been BOMBARDED with fourth quarter release leaks. This one I actually enjoyed. What are your favorite cuts? The middle of the album.

Well, I haven't heard her music in about 15 years now, but seeing her name again reminded me of that song. It was fun dance music with a TUNE, something I find missing in far too much dance music. From what I remember she had a strong, gospel style voice too. http://profile.myspace.co...=101853244 Scroll down to the bottom of the song selection and play "Nobody Else"! 2010: Healing the Wounds of the Past.... http://prince.org/msg/8/325740

As for "Nu-di-ty"..... lol ummm I guess that one might grow on me. I am expecting all of them to grow on me once I actually have the CD. It's on my Christmas list.

While I don't feel the need to point out the obvious that Kylie courts a larger gay following than say Anthrax I will agree on Midnightmover's other points. Shes an endearing performer when onstage or in videos but as a personality and lyricist totally lacks any charisma or star quality. Yes vacuous is the word.
Two hours and fifteen minutes of her in that White Diamond docu was excrutiating. Annie Lennox did a South Bank Show soon after and showed more substance in 45 minutes. Glug, glug like a mug

Here's my take on it:
2 Hearts - I like it better than when i first heard it, and it was probably the right choice of lead single, but i dont think its the best song on the album. Its deceptive in terms of what is on the rest of the album - kind of stands alone in its sound. Like A Drug - Typical Kylie electro pop with a catchy chorus. Good stuff. In My Arms - My favourite so far. Reminds me a bit of Love At First Sight. Probably the catchiest thing on the album. Speakerphone - A decent album track that sounds like it could have been on Britney's Blackout album. Sensitized - Filler. Boring. Heart Beat Rock - More filler. The One - This is better, a nice dreamy pop song. Paper thin beats though. No More Rain - Cliche central. nice enough track but nothing to grab me musically or lyrically. Considering its supposed emotional content there isn't much to convince here. All I See - This is not Kylie. This is Janet Jackson. She even sings it exactly like Janet. I actually really like this one (better than most of janets last album) - i think it has single potential. Like the bass slaps too. Stars - Lots of talk of stars on this album, but this songs doesn't do much for me. Filler. Wow - First a homage to janet, now one to madge. This also sounds a lot like Love At First Sight too, and its a real good track none the less. Nu-Di-Ty - Another Britney blackout moment but not as good as anything on that record. Cosmic - Like the beat, and atmosphere of the record. More starry cosmic talk. Can see the Put Yourself in My Place comparisons, but its not as good as that. Its a good album closer though. All in all I like the record, more than i do most Kylie albums. I found a lot of moments sounded really similar to Britney's Blackout, however i thought Britney did them better. Similarly some of the more Kylie moments on Britney's record (Heaven on Earth) Kylie would have done better. If you could combine those two albums you'd have one of the seminal pop albums of modern times. She is at her best on this record when she sticks to her electro-pop sound (In My Arms, The One, Like A Drug), although i have a real strange liking for All I See. I still can’t understand why White Diamond is left off. It’s better than pretty much everything else on the album, and im dying to get my hands on a studio version of it.

Two hours and fifteen minutes of her in that White Diamond docu was excrutiating. Annie Lennox did a South Bank Show soon after and showed more substance in 45 minutes. I do agree with you somewhat. I thought in white diamond she came across as a really sweet, unasuming girlie girl. I dont however think she is that interesting or has much star quality. She makes good pop music but there is no emotional depth there. I saw her perform in manchester on that tour and she was pretty devoid of personality - that sounds harsher than i mean it to be as I found her likeable in the film, but she's just not that interesting. I've been really impressed by the way she's handled her career in the last 8 years, but i still dont get that star quality from her. A great pop performer none the less.

The cancer scare got her such a long treatment as if she'd finally offer up something profound. She just fools around with her dancers and camp friends, lots of hugs and giggles but not much else if this documentary is any idea. Did you see that ITV thing recently? Few performances interspersed with WOEFUL comedy skits. I can't believe anyone professional could have written the dialogue. Glug, glug like a mug

I think I'm going to wait for this to be released in the US because I doubt I'll find a good price for it before that.

Yeah, see I can relate to that a bit more than Kylie 'cos there's a bit of soul to it. Also, her voice doesn't put me on tenterhooks like Kylie's does. I think "I Believe In You" for instance is a great song (one of her only good ones IMO), but it's ruined for me by Kylie's voice on the verses. I can't completely enjoy a song when the voice is as unsoulful as hers (at least in the lower registers). P.S. That was a good dose of nostalgia hearing "Finally" again after all these years. That's a damn good track. “The man who never looks into a newspaper is better informed than he who reads them, inasmuch as he who knows nothing is nearer to truth than he whose mind is filled with falsehoods and errors.”
