No-one loves melody more than I do, and I have to say I feel the same way as paisleypark4. I never liked this song. For me it's nowhere near other Paul compositions like "Here, There, and Everywhere" or "Let It Be". That's not to say it's not good, but it just never got me the same way it does everyone else. “The man who never looks into a newspaper is better informed than he who reads them, inasmuch as he who knows nothing is nearer to truth than he whose mind is filled with falsehoods and errors.”

Wasn't this song possibly the first number one single to (accidentally) feature the F-Word???
At 2:58 there is a fluffed backing vocal and you can clearly hear someone (Lennon?) say "Aw, f@ckin' hell!" I listen out for it every time I hear it on the radio.

i wouldn't go so far as to say it's one of my FAVORITE beatles songs, but i like it enough to say i certainly wouldn't go so far as to echo pp4's comments on it either.

I can't see what's special about it either, it's boring as hell. "Beauty is not in the face; beauty is a light in the heart." - Khalil Gibran

Hate is a strong word...What could you possibly "hate" about the Beatles? How 'bout everything? Feel free to join in the Prince Album Poll 2018! Let'a celebrate his legacy by counting down the most beloved Prince albums, as decided by you!

But why must you show up in every Beatles thread to say you don't like them? I'm actually being serious here. I don't get it. I don't like Kylie Minogue, so I tend to avoid the threads about her. Much easier.

Much easier. Now I only go to threads that are either critical of the Beatles or at least invite a critical view with a question. I don't jump in every Beatles thread. by the Beatles??? Dont get me wrong I have Revolver, White Album, Beatles Anthology 2 & 3, Magical Mystery Tour and Sargent Pepper. But I just dont get what is so good about that song? I listen 2 it and it just doesnt do anything for me. Its sappy dry and :boring: (kinda like the Let It Be album which is part of the reason I never bothered 2 buy it). It's not my fave song by them, but I like it enough. I like the intentions behind the song more than I do the song itself, but I like the rockin' stuff at the end.

Much easier. i think beamie is in competition with funkenstein, who dutifully talks smack on every thread that even hints at mentioning nirvana. seriously, mentioning the beatles or kurt cobain is like flashing the bat signal with these two. they show up dressed for battle in no time!

I think it's gorgeous and I'm not even much of a Beatles fan. I got attached to it by playing it on the piano. It's gorgeous.
