Hey Raze that's the point, really trying to get some real feedback on her talent from the outside....as were loving her in the UK but we think she could break the US in the same way as George Michael, Joss Stone, blah..blah..

I like Bleeding Love. Very pretty melody.

Haven't heard the rest of the new album, though.

Shes obviously technically good but also quite dull and sexless, in many ways you could say she certainly lacks the charisma, charm and yes X factor of say a Robbie Williams.

Bleeding Love is a cool track, as with those of her ilk she'll be as good as the material she's given. She might break the USA but they already have their own "Idols". Kelly Clarkson had already done "A Moment Like This" first for example. Its all one big franchise.

She better than Kelly Clarkson and Robbie Williams vocally but I take your point she's not yet got the charm factor...heres.. what some other people are saying about her....

Spice Girls - "The girls like Leona and aren't overly bothered whether (their album) goes to No. 2

Rihanna's - Umbrella was a number 1 for 10 week's but Leona already out sold her within 2 weeks?

Clive Davis - Who signed Whitney thinks she will be bigger than her.

Her new CD - If sales keep up their pace, her new album will move 400,000 copies in its first week. If you consider that the UK has one-fifth of America's population, that's like a 2 million first week in the US

Does this add any weight? wink

I'm not that's why i didn't want UK bods to comment because we never support our own anyway and buy US music even when we have a homegrown artist / vocalist of merit ....it's a fact ...sorry.. sad

That's about as inteligent a response as I'd expect from a Leona Lewis fan. It has nothing to do with "supporting our own". This girl is bland, just like every other X Factor/American Idol winner. Whether she was American, British or Japanese wouldn't make a difference.

Industry hype adds some weight that she might do well in America yes. Shes on track to have the fastest ever selling album in UK chart history and has the best selling single of 2007.

It doesn't matter how she got famous. If she had the goods I'd support her, but she doesn't. She's just a good looking girl with no personality, no charisma, nothing. Just another singing muppet. I mention X Factor/ American Idol because these shows generally tend to unearth exactly this kind of generic copycat. And as if to prove my point about the intellect required to be a Leona Lewis fan you come out with this....

have you checked you...record..collection...YOU WILL..have FORMER..talent..show winners..because that how most artist get breaks

Dude, my record collection has Kate Bush, Prince, Stevie Wonder, Springsteen, Dylan, Bjork, Bob Marley, Cyndi Lauper. I don't know how many of them got their big breaks from talent shows but I'd love you to give me some details on that. lol

Hey, these days even if Stevie said she was great it wouldn't mean shit since he's worked with Blue and Will Smith.

well lets look at the facts.

there are some videos and demo songs of hers from a few years back up on youtube,
it seems like xfactor gave her the break.

she has a fucking good voice, but im already sick of that bleeding love song,
its fucking irritating, playing every goddamn minute on radio and tv.

its a boring song and not very exciting.

i was expecting better, especially since it took them 10 months to get her album ready.

still, she is going to have the biggest ever debut by a uk artist, she is expected to sell over 400,000, more than arctic monkeys.

seems like the uk public have gone fanny over her.
a shame really. great voice but shit album and she always has that goody two shoes persona when in interviews and speaking.

i want some real fucking music.

best go and listen to some 52nd street or loose ends, Now that is what I call real UK R&B. fuck all the rest.

This is why I don't wanna hear people telling me to support UK R&B artists. First of all you've got to give me something decent to support. Hell, if a group like Soul II Soul came out again I'd be in seventh heaven, but UK R&B at the moment SUCKS!!!! Worse than the American stuff. Who have we got? Jamelia? Lemar? Craig David? These are KINDERGARDEN artists. Knee-high to a pygmy. I don't care where they come from.

Of course,

Lemar is another reality show singer. some ok songs, the rest just garbage crap.
as for Craig David, his voice is fucking starting to annoy me now. especially on that Hot stuff song, its so fucking nasally and whiny, its beyond taking the piss now.
As for Jamelia, she is just a pop star, boring, and also has a boring voice.

funny how these original UK R&B jams are still the shit, more than 20 years old.
wipes the floor with todays so called R&B.

me, i just stick the old school, fucking timeless, no need for bullshit talk, just straight down to business, straight outta london !!!

Hang on Leona from London (east) and she just starting out, come on did Loose Ends get any airplay in the UK (mainstream) Until our Friends in the US went crazy.over them ...How may brits awards did Soul II Soul get??? (0), if we just keep slaging off our artist guess where all the A&R money goes...

Also Lemar had to fight to get where he is, if you can't see this talent then we got no hope...as for Craig yes his last two albums have not lived up to his first agreed but let not send him to the Tower just yet..

Hold up UK - R'n'B is not dead...Leona,Omar, Bevelery, Lemar, Floetry..etc..

Let's not try and re-write history. Soul II Soul were MASSIVE in 1989. Of course they didn't win a Brit. There was a white girl out the same year who ripped off their sound (Lisa Stansfield). You know they can't overlook the white girl. lol And we ain't even talking about commercial success anyway. We talking about quality. Mica Paris was quality. Neneh Cherry was quality. Soul II Soul were quality. Hell, for a few years Jamiroquai was quality. But Leona and Lemar? You've got to be joking, right? Have you heard that Colour Me Badd-sampling song of Lemar's? Do you expect me to listen to that junk? Come on man, you're talking to a grown up here.

I've seen that performance before and it's definitely the best I ever saw from him, but it's just a cover version he did in his shows. That's not what he's releasing. What he's releasing is junk. Also, when he sings with a full band his voice can sound thin. If his own music was more on those lines I might listen, but it's not.

Look let's face fact's we are the UK not the USA - size is a factor hear, also we have not got the same "R'n'B" foot print over here as they do over their ..would say Jahiem get signed in the UK ..no cause are market is UK POP and Europe..it's amazing that for a small place we can produce a JK (Jamiroquai) at all..

Example - Snow Patrol - Run track do you know it? check out Leona version this is the range we have to have over here Lemar has Craig has Mica has Soul II Soul has all released commercial records for the pop chart because their told to do it...Omar didn't has he even had more than 1 top 40 record in fact he's got 1 Top 100 in the UK but ask John Legend or d'angleo if they have heard of him!!

Check this out : http://www.youtube.com/wa...gdRHH1gis4
cool cool

Oh, I've got plenty of respect for Omar. He emerged at the same time as the other artsts I mentioned; a loooong time ago. lol As for that Leona cover version, I'm sure Simon Cowell would love it.

OMAR IS LITTLE BETTER...

You think Lemar and Craig David have written and produced songs as good as this?
