what, another one? neutral

She owes Warners one final 'Greatest Hits' compilation. It's gonna be released at the end of 2008.Screw that,I'd rather have a multi-disc box set lol

Let's hope it's more definitive than the last 2. I'd acually like something that encompasses all of the singles. It'd be nice for something that would have B-Sides/Collaborations/Re-Mixes, but I'd take a nice set of all the singles. I does seem strange to have one so soon after the last one (covering only 2 albums since) But if it does go back and cover the earlier years and we get Everybody, Burning Up, Angel, Dress you up, etc, I'll be pleased.

I truly wish I could sneak into the vaults and burn all the masters for this album and just force her to start fresh without Justin, Timbaland and Pharrel.

I do, but the time for her to work with him has passed. He's too overexposed now.

Well I'm sure it will wind up being the decent work on the album, since some of his work is decent. But I loathe Pharrel as a producer these days, and have absolutely no use for Justin.

Just out of curiosity, who would you pair Madonna with? Who's the ideal producer for her? I know you didn't like Stuart Price, either.

Early on,I suggested DangerMouse (of Gnarls Barkley).

I really hope that whoever heard those songs and kept relating it to Justin's old hits really had no other point of reference for Neptunes' or Timbaland's productions.

I would probably be disappointed if her songs are just rehashes of those producers' old tricks.

But Madonna stays in her lane. It's just a big lane.

IT´s just an annoying lane. She could make the world hungry for her by staying away for a while at least ONCE.

those days of waiting 4 years to put out an album in order to build anticipation and demand are OVER. ask that hero of yours in your avatar. or his sister.

while im uncertain about the direction (in spite of being a big timbaland fan), i do believe Madonna always turns out decent albums. It may not be a ground breaker, but it'll be good. At least most of Justins vox are restricted to backing. I was dreading an album of Madonna & JT duets.

Nice to see they're using an old madonna composition as well (The Devil Wouldnt Recognise You). M said in Attitude a couple of years back she really loved this song, but felt it wasn't right for Confessions. Looks like Timbaland will be acting as a producer rather than the songs being constructs of the music he provides. Makes me hope there will be a bit more substance to it than there is to say the Pharrel tracks we've heard so far.

Wasn't The Devil Wouldnt Recognise you a co-write with Pat Leonard or Joe Henry? (thats who she was doing the musical with)

Pat Leonard.

"Hello Suckers Musical Confirmed in late 2004 by Patrick Leonard, Madonna recorded an album's worth of material designed for a 20s-style musical loosely based on the life of Texas Guinan titled Hello Suckers!. Two tracks supposedly written for this venture are Curtain and The Devil Wouldn't Recognize You. The latter was going to be part of the setlist to the Re-Invention Tour but was later scrapped. With the project shelved for the time being, these songs remain unreleased in original form"

so,let's sort this info out....

***Currently, there are five confirmed tracks that will be on the album, all produced by Timbaland with Justin Timberlake:

"Dance Tonight"
"4 Minutes To Save The World"
"Even The Devil Wouldn't Recognize You"
"Across The Sky"
"Miles Away"

***A few weeks ago,Madonna was back in the studio with Pharrell, either recording some new tracks or finishing up (or re-working) the four songs she already recorded with him (including "Candy Shop" and "The Beat Goes On").

***A song called "Irresistible" was produced by Swizz Beatz and is rumored to be a favorite of Warners, who are considering it for a single.

***Stuart Price said that he is not involved in this album, yet one of his songs "Your Hands" might still appear on the record.Madonna likes this song alot and is trying to decide if it fits on the album with the other material.

***The album will contain 13 tracks.Over 22 songs have been recorded.

lol looks like the project is going along smoothly

I'm always skeptical when I read stuff like this....when they say a song is "reminscent of another song" or "it sounds similiar to this (or that) song".That almost never turns out to be the case.I'm betting that Timbaland has enough tricks up his sleeves that he won't just give Madonna a bunch of "Sexy Back"-soundalikes.

To be fair, she doesn't do this all the time.Mirwais produced two of her recent albums and he wasn't exactly a household name.Same with Stuart Price. Those guys aren't Top 10 hit-making producers that everyone is working with right now.Perhaps Madonna just decided that she finally wants to make a mainstream, commercial album for a change? The last time she did an album like this was in 1994.

Besides, she's turning 50 next year and this will be her final Warners album.Maybe she wants to go out with a bang? Her next album might be a weird collection of torch ballads wink Something completely non-commericial.

Didnt he say something along the lines of him having done a song that he felt HAD to be sung by Madonna, so he thought he'd probably give her that one. That would indicate to me he's something pretty unique sounding. Unique or not people shouldnt use those 2 leaked tracks as a barometer of whats to come. M wont want to make an album that sounds just like Britney, Justin or Nelly Furtado's, it goes against her ethos.

Yeah,I never worry about who Madonna collaborates with. The results are usually very interesting. She always brings enough of her own personality, style and input to the sessions,no matter who she works with.

Since you became a fan has Madonna done anything you didn't like? Anything that wasn't great?

Pharrel Williams talks about his tracks for Madonna's new album

Madonna's new songs with Pharrell Williams is so "hot" it will "make the music speakers bleed".

The "Hung Up" singer has been in the studio with hit producer Pharrell creating tracks for her upcoming album, and he claims their collaboration will take the music industry by storm.

Speaking at the launch of his new shop Billionaire Boys Club and Ice Cream in New York on Wednesday (Nov.28),Pharrell said "It was crazy.I don't want to say too much.I'd rather wait for you to hear it.It makes the speakers bleed. It's hot!".

Earlier this month,it was reported that Pharrell had been recording with the 49-year old singer at Record Plant Studios in Los Angeles.

The pair reportedly bumped into Kanye West, who was working with Michael Jackson in a studio next door, inspiring the hip-hop star to rap on one of Madonna's new songs.

Also set to feature on the hotly-anticipated album are star producer Timbaland and "SexyBack" singer Justin Timberlake.
