Mariah Carey's Live Nation-produced The Adventures of Mimi tour will be chronicled on an upcoming DVD of the same name, which will be a Best Buy exclusive at retail.

The double-disc "The Adventures of Mimi" will be available at the electronic mass-merchant's stores beginning Dec. 4. Beyond cuts from the "Emancipation of Mimi" album, the track list features Carey and Boyz II Men reprising their smash duet, "One Sweet Day."

Bonus features include behind-the-scenes footage, a karaoke function and a 15-minute spoof film, "Lovers & Haters," directed by Spike Lee. In it, Carey stars as herself.

Although the DVD bears the Live Nation Artists/Artist's Nation imprint, Carey remains signed to Island Def Jam, on which she will release her new album sometime next spring.

I've seen a bit of the "Lovers & Haters" skit... It will get panned... I love Mariah to death but her continued focus on the "haters" kinda makes her look insecure.

Madonna....Time to put out all the unreleased tours on a boxed set! Oh, shit. They are owned by Warners. Well maybe they'll get up off their lazy asses and do it without the exclusive deal that Best Buy has.

Jude, did you ever hear those Maraih tapes right before "Glitter" came out...Howard Stern used to play them and recently he aired a show where Mariah talked about there being some kind of conspriacy involving Howard playing them on the air and goofing on them. Of course, she said the same about Tommy and J. Lo. Might be some truth to it but maybe Howard didn't know....a guy named Vinny Favalio who has a job as President of East Coast late night, which means he sucks up to Letterman and CBS, kept feeding the tapes to Howard....but then again, they were available on the web to Mariah fans, right?

I figured fans would know a lot of the details. Probably not. I'm not 100% sure but I assume they were audio messages either sent to fans or right on her website. I guess they were kind of like audio blog messages but really nutty and paranoid. Also very career obsessed...she was so nutty about her singles doing well at the time. It would probably have been very interesting to a fan. I would imagine to some it was a turn off, even without Howard's commentary.

Actually i do remember things like that getting posted on her site and in web diaries from her personally. I think her leaving Sony was a must thing for her, but she was scared shitless and it drove her crazy at times, especially in that 1999-2001 era. I remember when "Loverboy" came out there was a battle going on with the CD single, she put it out at 1.49 which was low for a "physical" single then Sony countered that move with "Bootylicious" and priced it at 1.29, then Mariah countered at 99 cents then Sony went nuts and dropped Bootylicious to 49 cents and Mariah/Emi did the same, this was a clear effort to knock her out from getting to number 1 which it did, Loverboy peaked at Number 2, but in retrospect both labels lowering the prices to 49 cents it brought up a new "topic" and that was something called "dumping" which is basically dropping your price to acheive chart positions and then flooding the stores with the product.

"We went where our music was appreciated, and that was everywhere but the USA, we knew we had fans, but there is only so much of the world you can play at once" Magne F

Oh yeah, I've heard those messages she'd post to her site. I thought you were describing some personal conversations that got leaked or something. Actually, those clips didn't seem that nutty to me... I kinda thought it was sweet to check in with her fans (rather than threatening legal action - hee hee)... Didn't know Howard ripped on her though -- bet it was funny.
