I've always loved this song> I think it's bangin'. I remember when it came out, the radio station played the song back to back. They did that everytime they played it. For like 3 days, they did this. I've NEVER seen this done for another artist.

Mick Jagger sounds ridiculous on this. Love that riff, but not crazy about the rest of it.

instead of listening to the remix im listening to the original mercury and jackson version and i know many folks prefer the original but ithink the jagger version is on par.

To myself, the Mercury/Jackson demo version is better. It's more stripped down & funky. cool

I was just listening to that tonight and I agree, very stripped down and funky. I've noticed that with most of Michael's demos from the "Off the Wall"/"Thriller" periods. His demos had a raw and organic feel. The demo version of "Working Day and Night" is a perfect example of homemade funk (courtesy of Michael, Greg Phillinganes and the "terrible two" siblings Randy and Janet: "MICHAEL TURN DOWN MY EARPHONES, MAN!" "He's trying, Randy... WELL TAKE THEM OFF RIGHT QUICK!" "Shut up!"). lol

I always thought it was the other way around. I was never a fan of this song. Do you remember Jagger doing this song with Tina Turner?...I think it was at Live Aid. THAT version was smoking.

I always heard that the reason MJ and Freddie had a falling out was because when Michael learned that Freddie had AIDS, Michael no longer wanted to be assoicated with Freddie. I guess this was because there were questions at the time about Michael's own sexuality.

Well, if you like posh English guys pretending to be old, iliterate blues singers then Mick's definitely your man. wink

I truly doubt this since there is an interview with the Rolling Stone in which MJ talks about Freddie after his death due to complications from AIDS. I doubt he wanted to distance himself from someone who had AIDS, considering his work in that area, in particular his relationship with Ryan White along with Elton John.

This is one of my fav Jacksons songs...loved it then, still love it now!

I respect Freddie but I guess I'm so familiar with Mick's vocals on this song,
I just can't imagine someone else singning his part.

Or if you like boyish high voices pretending to sound tough, then Mike is your dude.

Just busting your chops buddy...again, to each their own.

Oh yeah, I understand that. It could have possibly been that since Freddie was a homosexual, and the fact that there were rumors at the time about Michael himself being gay, Michael wanted to distance himself before rumors of some sort of sexual relationship between the two surfaced.

But of course all of this is hearsay. I read this in a Mick Jagger biography a while back.
