According to Wikipedia:

In 1998, Prince announced a comeback album of Prince & The Revolution that consisted of unreleased songs. It was most likely never released because of a dispute with the original Revolution members. One of the mentioned songs, "Splash" was released on Prince's Web site. According to Dr. Fink (former Revolution keyboardist) with internet radio host Ernest L Sewell IV of the Ernest Experience Radio Show, Prince asked for Wendy and Lisa's input on the album, but he didn't offer any compensation. Wendy and Lisa asked for the simple things like a hotel, minor expenses covered, and compensation to work on the album (which were all viable requests when being asked to fly to another city and do work). Prince wasn't offering up the money, and they declined his offer. Later, when people asked about the Roadhouse Garden album, his reply was "Ask Wendy and Lisa."

Yeah, it was first a downloadable song on the NPG Music Club back in Feb. 2001. The same time that they released the first Ahdio Show. Man, I miss those days when Prince let you download stuff when you paid the membership fee. I have all the Ahdio Shows and all the downloads from back then.

Splash is a nice tune, still listed as a Prince & the Revolution production.

What do you mean by that? Did someone else write "Splash" or the music for Splash?

I really wish Prince would get the crew together and start organizing/releasing all of his old material, live concerts, etc. He could do it by eras: 1979-1981, 1982-1984, 1985-1986... just think, discs of unreleased/alternate versions & live shows from the era. It would be the greatest releases in history.

Agh, this is better quality than I have it already. It's not showing up in my Temp Internet Files. I think they've changed the way the flash player is done so it doesn't do that anymore.

That'd be useful to know for me too as recent PC/Hard-drive issues meant that my previous version of Splash is lost forever!
