It opened on Friday here in ONE independent theatre. I saw it on Saturday.

it's not a date movie.

It wasn't exactly an "up" movie and I wasn't exactly in an "up" mood when we saw it last weekend, but I did enjoy it and I was more swept in by the style of filmmaking than I was disturbed or depressed by the story. The movie is shot gorgeously. The performances were all great, too - especially the guy who played Ian Curtis. Good work.

Holy crap! I'm not overly familiar with Joy Division's work but I think I gotta check this out sometime.

It was very well done! I like that Ian isn't portrayed as a hero.

I'm the biggest Joy Division fan around and I can't believe I still haven't seen this.

I haven't seen that many new releases this year. That's gonna be rough come Oscar time.
