I still play it as it is the first Bjork album that I got (not counting the greatest hits one that got 'lost' at my job) I really like Earth Intruders and Innocence. This has been one of the best albums I've gotten this year If you will, so will I

I still like it, though I haven't listened to it in months. It'll come around in the rotation again one of these days. "Half of what I say is meaningless; but I say it so that the other half may reach you." - Kahlil Gibran

I really like it! Declare Independece is one of my fav tracks from this yéar!
Tho I need a certain Gudmundsdóttír mood to listen to the whole album... My Juvenile edit [Edited 11/19/07 1:48am]

so the overall census is that people like it a lot, they just never
listen to it i find that applies to most of the music i've gathered over the last 2 years. some amazing albums there, yet i hardly ever listen to them at all. i suppose i'm still listening and absorbing some of the cd's that came out before that time. and true love lives on lollipops and crisps

I think it also has a lot to do with getting older. You can recognize how phenomenal a new album is, but you just don't usually develop the emotional connection that you did when you were younger with older albums. The album just fell out of my top 20. It wasn't bad at all. I just liked a lot of other albums this year more.

When I was a teen, it was simply because I didn't have that many albums so the ones I had, I played over and over until I knew them all backwards and forwards. Now that I have a zillion albums, I play them less frequently and don't bond with them as much.

I agree with what you guys are saying with lack of focus on a few albums, but for me, it's mostly that I'm not really as into music as I was 5 or 10 years ago. I still enjoy it, but I often feel like I've already found all the ones I need. I still pick up a new favorite artist every once in awhile, but I very rarely try new things out on a whim or on a recommendation anymore. And that made me sad and mad at myself for awhile, but I got over it. "Half of what I say is meaningless; but I say it so that the other half may reach you." - Kahlil Gibran

I understand what you're saying, and it ties in exactly with my review of Sound of Silver, which was such a revelation for me BECAUSE it ignited the teenage passion overdrive of yesteryear unlike anything has in awhile. What's weird for me is that the older I get, the farther I go back to discover artists and albums I'd never paid any attention to or just didn't know anything about. The last artists I got into when they were fairly fresh or new or making their impact were Mercury Rev, Me'shell and Rufus Wainwright back in the late 90's. Since then, I've delved into Bowie, James Brown, Elvis, Stevie Wonder, Johnny Cash and some others. For me it's more a matter of what my priorities are. I'm old, but if I had a wife and kids (like my younger brother) then yes, music wouldn't be that important. But I don't have any of those things to worry about at the moment so I'm buying more music now than ever.
