I love her stuff.

Her record company finally had a greatest hits released in the US. There was one released in Japan in 1995 (probably right after her last album). She was supposed to release a new album this year (I thought). Hopefully it's still happening.

This is the song. She almost outsang Babyface on this one. Pebbles was a cool duet partner, but Karyn White shut it down.

I prefer Pebbles, but I loved Karyn, too. The fact that she was fine didn't hurt...

Miss her? She was barely around to begin with, so I'd say "missing her" is probably a vast overstatement of the feeling.

But I did appreciate her in her knock-off Janet Jackson/Paula Abdul way. She had a few tunes that I dug.

I'm sorry but she was more talented than the two of them put together, even if she wasn't as popular. Paula or Janet never came with anything as fierce as Superwoman or Love Saw It. No disrespect to them, but their thin voices couldn't handle it.

That's true. On the other hand, her songs were their rejects.

Wowugotit

I loved her first album "Karyn White". Her second album was good but a tad generic. Her 3rd album only contained about 3 good tracks - one of them was her 1994 single "Hungah". I don't really miss her as an artist anymore.

I'll agree that while I love Secret Rendevous, it does sound like a Control-era Janet Jackson knockoff. biggrin
