Depeche Mode, "Violator" First of all, let me just say that this HAS to be one of the most perfect albums ever. Every single song is a haunting masterpiece.. and I mean EVERY SINGLE ONE. One of the most striking abilities of this group is their knack for creating such an organic-sounding atmosphere filled with emotion and imagery just by the usage of mainly synthetic/electronic instrumentation. That's quite a feat. And their songwriting is superb. However, after dozens upon dozens of listenings to these songs (obviously remastered) via Limewire, I must say I was a little pissed when I received my actual physical copy in the mail today and the sound quality freaking SUCKED. Okay, maybe not sucked, but I ordered the original 1990 CD edition when I should have done the smart thing and got a remastered import. So, fellow orgers who love the Mode and have some kind of improved edition of this album, I need your advice: Next time I re-purchase this CD, which edition do you feel would be the best one to buy?

I have heard good things about the deluxe editions:
In U.S. they are cd +dvd(5.1) In UK they are sacd hybrid (5.1 + stereo) and dvd for video Both mix the album into 5.1 and have been well rcvd. If you have a superaudio/dvd audio capable dvd player I would go with import sacd since I think you will notice the diff based upon your post. Music is the best...
