Really? That's been blindingly obvious to me since the beginning. "Tap Into My Heart" was supposed to be the lead single from what became Bobby, but they scrapped that. paisleypark4 said: then Johnny Gill did that bad remix version of Rub You The Right Way
No you didn't!?! Every version of "Rub You the Right Way" is hot! I love that remix with CL Smooth, but I think I may prefer the original just slightly. "Whitney was purely and simply one of a kind." ~ Clive Davis

Not me...that remake sounds patched 2gether from some other dance lp...the original the beat was created and intended for his voice..where that mix just sould like the guy just got a record out the box and just put his acapella over it Straight Jacket Funk Affair

Tap into my heart was written by Bobby and Dennis Austin, this is when bobby was into producing and releasing his own LP in 91, but then he started getting deep in Whitney, changed his whole 91 LP, and made an adult sounding and extra safe NJS LP named Bobby, and then we know the rest

You've never seen a New Edition video or performance? Damn. Anyway, Bobby always had the best stage presence, but coming off the monster success of Don't Be Cruel probably had his confidence at an all-time high. Awful. I thought it then and I still think it now. At the time, it was sorta exciting to see them all together, but once they started performing it was Johnny oversings all the time. I'm not saying he can't sing, because he can. He controls it some on record but live it's too, too much. Bobby was better in this performance than he was the previous VMA when he "sang" On Our Own, but still bad.
