So sad how her album has been "coming out" for atleast a year now! lol I read a horrible review of it in Spin Magazine months ago too. Mya annoys me, cause how much do you wanna bet that the album will have one or two HOT tracks, and then every thing else will sound like boring ole filler! mad

She can be sooo underwhelming with her releases, I mean don't get me wrong, I liked Fear of Flying, but what the hell was Moodring about?
I had to sell that crap back to the store ill
If you will, so will I

I dont know about that title as a poor mans Amerie, i think MYA and AMERIE could really teach the "so called Divas" in RB a little something, but hey thats me. Im not surprised by this, im actually glad, and is it will almost mean MYA's exit from Motwon before a record was even released here, showing that Motown is good for nothing anymore. I could spend a day telling you all the politics and the SHADY things that led to Ameries record not coming out here, but you would all think it was out of a spy novel. As for MYA well, i had complaints with this records single choices, mainly the label wanted to promote singles that featured guest rappers, adn it just didnt work, because do we really need more of that? But there were quite a few good songs on this album that were different than the typical RB, one track WALKA NOT A TALKA was picked as a single and then pulled for another song which featured Lil Wayne (another loser). MYA is most likely going to go indie, she has posted new songs on her Myspace that werent even on this record, and i think thats her plan at this point.

I liked exactly one single of hers but now I forget which one.

I think it was on Fear Of Flying. Isn't that joint like 6? 7? years old?

I know this is off topic, but I saw Amerie's album in Walmart months ago, but I don't know ANYONE who even knows it was released. My friend and I think it was some kinda mistake or something, so he went back and bought it the next day just in case lol

The record was only issued as an import here, it was never released by SONY in this country officially due to certain people at Sony that feel that Amerie is a problem, and really have been sabotaging her releases since the her last album asking that the record be shelved here and held off certain schedules, but Amerie has settled in nicely overseas and i believe she lives there now most of the time. (for the record a similar thing happend with Christina Milian being paid to leave Def Jam, but thats another post and topic, even shadier!)

WOW! well I know he was glad he got it for the Wal-mart price and not the import price! The music business is terrible these days. You'd think Amerie was holding the weapons of mass destruction or something, I mean what happened to the days of making an album, promoting it, and then putting it out? confused

Mya's lead single was complete trash. The video was cheesy as hell. The song is thematic of something she would've written back when she was 18. It's about going out late at night and looking for her man because he hasn't come home yet. Bitch, just get a new man and move the fuck on! razz lol

There are people at SONY that are "scared" of Amerie, and I think we know who they are, his initials are M.K. and the other is R.H. Things are very ugly here in the US, but its that way for alot of people. There arent many outlets for artists in this country anymore, the videostations are almost non existant, the radio stations are bought and sold. So everyone is going through this kind of issue, thats why you are seeing the promotion of records being done overseas and not here, mainly because there is no where to go here, what show do you go on? The talk shows have no relevance anymore on a record with the exception of maybe Oprahs, and other countries there are prime time shows that feature artists performing their songs, we have drifted further away from that the last 10-15 years, consolidation = the end.

Mya is over as a recording artist.Maybe she should try acting? She never had a personality, she was really just a pretty face singing mediocre songs.I bet most people couldn't name more than one or two songs by her.

I thought "Case of the Ex" was OK, but the only one I really liked was "My Love Is Like... Wo" (and I'm not even going to deny the video had some effect).

That's the thing...none of her singles are memorable lol Her songs are lightweight and boring.I'm not a huge Beyonce fan,but at least she occasionally comes out with an exciting song.

Not too many Swizz Beatz productions I liked either. This one is full of those fake keyboard scratches. I can't say I like it as much today.

She is an American R&B artist...but the new CD is only coming out in Japan as a download. THat's almost as bad as Dannii Minogue's "new" CD (which is frankly, mostly made up of the new songs from her greatest hits CD and her singles she released here and there).

The album has been made...Do they really lose money just putting it out there, even in limited supplies.

Well at least my favorite band a-Ha, release their albums everywhere BUT here, and have sold 80million albums worldwide since thier start, which is almost as much as Prince has sold with the US counted too. So much for a ONE HIT wonder.

Why do you view having your cd released everywhere but here a problem? Whos problem is it? think about it for a minute, this is happening for alot of artists at this point, and some that have had way more hits and popularity. The band TOTO has had 7 albums in the last 7 years, none of them issued here at all, and the list goes on. The USA is the one with the problem as far as i can see, but hey i could care less i get my copy and thats all that matters, let the USA listen to the new Omarion/Bow Wow GEM of a creation.
