Maybe I'm getting old and boring, but that automatically takes his cool points down a few notches for me. Is a lot of his stuff along the same line? That was the first time I've heard Van swear in any song. You don't have to worry about expletives turning up on his first two albums. I don't really see the problem with lyrics that use more direct words  . And it's strange to me to read criticism about it on Prince board . And I was very much into this sort of thing... in the mid 1980s. 
No offense to folk who enjoy this -- and I certainly do have a few...er... seedy things in my music library -- but this is just an unexpected way for me to be introduced to Van Hunt's work. And given the sad state of today's artistry, I worry that this sort of thing from most corners is simply prurient and derivative, where at least Prince was pioneering... for better or worse.
