My bud is a "healthy eater" (which i'm not) hence his ire with the place. As far as i'm concerned, if it's late and i'm hungry, any one of those 3 will do. 
I'm headed for Florida next week so maybe i'll give you a report on the current state of their waffles.

Waffle House is not as bad as Denny's, yet both places are grease heaven..... To say they are low on the food chain is giving them more credit than deserved. I've only had their dinner.....don't know how their breakfast is. My mom raves about their breakfast & coffee though. I've been to Denny's a couple of times and this was way after that scandal.....so I didn't notice anything funny about them. I love their food Last time I was there, I had bacon, a double-helping of scrambled eggs, and pancakes topped with whipped cream and baked sliced apples dipped in cinammon. ...where they're everywhere (and I believe they stay open all night). My best friend calls it the "Awful House" because of the food quality. (  Think Denny's)
