There's no such thing as "amazing" when JT enters the picture, unless you mean amazingly lame!

He sucks, but I gotta admit,"My Love" is a decent song boxed boxed

I guess I lose my "cool points" for admitting that? lol

I'm in no position to detract cool points from anyone with the likes of Kylie, Dannii Minogue and Richard Marx being included in my collections!

I bought the Secret CD single this year in nostalgia for that old cassingle. redface

It has the instrumental!

Apparently some version of the single for "Secret" also has "Let Down Your Guard", I think maybe in the UK?

I bought that - it was my first CD single ever. I remember buying it totally hyped up - having not heard the song yet, and then playing that fucker to death. Let down your guard is a actually a good little song. Very reminiscent of TLC.

Secret still ranks for me as one of her all time classics. In fact ive been burning Bedtime stories a lot lately - a brilliant Autumnal album.

My main disappointment of the leaks so far has been her voice. She sounds old. Like she's trying to sing how she did 25 years ago - when she should be trying to sing as she did 10 years ago when she was trained up.

Madonnatribe exclusive: Plans for the 2008 Tour are alive and kicking!!!

From what we hear, the 2008 Tour project is alive and kicking-the time span they are working on at the moment to set tentative dates and arrange deals with the venues is basically a summer tour. But,as the aim is to bring the tour to as many countries as possible, they are working on a scheme which includes a reduced number of concerts to take place in a single city, focusing on those who offer the best performance from a production/cost/ticketing point of view, and obviously the word "stadium" comes to mind.

Also, there is a chance that we'll have to deal with itineraries significantly different from the ones of Madonna's two most recent tours-meaning that there's a chance the tour will start in Europe this time around and not in California like Reinvention and Confessions did.

From what we hear, plans to celebrate Madonna's 50th birthday with a special event are still going on,although it's not sure if the much-talked about Central Park concert will happen. It also seems the "birthday concert" is being taken into consideration for TV broadcasting and DVD recording this time again, like it happened with the Confessions Tour.

Plans are still yet to be final so we have to take all of the above with a grain of salt as things can change significantly in the next months, but the thing that excites us most is to learn that-as of today-the tour celebrating Madonna's 25 years in the music business is a go!

Danja, the Timbaland sidekick who produced several tracks, recently described the new album: "The songs are crazy. It's harder with a hip-hop influence, but you can still dance to it."

You know,I kinda wish Madonna work just say "fuck it" and release this album as a 2-CD set.She recorded a bunch of tracks with Stuart Price that are said to be "electro-rock",probably very similiar to the "Confessions" material. The first CD could contain the commercial,R&B stuff produced by Timbaland,Danja, etc. The second disc could contain the edgier, less commercial Stuart Price stuff. This would be a good way to balance it all out,and to insure that this isn't entirely an R&B affair.

It's her last album with Warner Bros.,she should go out with a bang. What better way to do that than with a celebratory 2-CD set?

hmmm only 12 tracks? There's gonna be alot of outtakes from this project.Timbaland said that he and Justin produced a whopping 10 songs for the album.Looks like many of those songs won't see the light of day.

Hopefully NONE of the JT songs will see the light of day.

considering he's the only actual "songwriter" we've heard of her working with on the project, I think I'm starting to become more enthused about his contributions than anything else. because god knows, listening to those other 3 tracks, she needs to be working with a songwriter.

Me too nod Many of her hardcore fans don't even like R&B,so they would probably like the second disc better.

I disagree. The songwriting has been appalling on Madonna records for years now, and it hasn't mattered at all. If fans are unhappy with the new album it wll be because it's not targeted at their demographic group, not because the writing is poor.

I've heard the 3 songs available from these sessions. The songwriting isn't even poor. It's non-existent.

And it was weak on Confessions, for the most part, as well.

I don't even know why Warners is trippin. The song most likely won't be on the album anyway. They should just let the fans have fun with it.

Hmm i kind of agree with you there. I dont think she's done an album of proper songs since Ray Of Light. A couple of the tracks on Music sounded like the product of songwriting (Dont Tell Me, WIFLFAG), but the rest sounded like Mirwais music with songs created around the hooks & sounds etc.

I do believe she needs to sit down with a Pat Leonard, or a Rik Nowels to balance out the groove orientated stuff a bit. Thats said, Timbaland isnt geared towards songwriting - its about the hooks and the beats.

sassybritches

madonna is pop music. i totally expect her to make a fluffy, pop record and that's cool by me. i'm only "concerned" because timbaland is so beat and i think she is going to risk looking and sounding like an old act that's trying to be hip.

confessions worked because it was straight up dance. madonna can do any kind of all out dance record and not come off desperate because that's her thing. teaming up with timbaland and other producers du jour could be a bad idea. from what i've heard so far, it is.
