Boy George Madonna Michael Jackson Prince Rick James Cyndi Lauper Annie Lennox Grace Jones Tina Turner,etc With these artists,you could take their 80s look and create a Halloween costume based on it.Everyone would know who you're trying to be.In the 90s,nobody looked unique anymore.All the rappers looked the same,and all the grunge rock stars dressed alike too. That point is echoing a conversation I was having. IMO, some of the most creative "Rock-Star" fashions were unleashed during the 60s...

I have to admit there were some good dance songs by Dee Lite, Ce Ce Peniston, Crystal Waters to offset the darkness but by the mid nineties. It was just dark especially in 94 that was a dark year yall.
Also, people were dropping like flies too. | |

Of course, there were bands like Weezer, Cake, and the Flaming Lips that weren't "depressing", but rather made waves by being "different". I don't know anybody that was sad while dancing around to "Buddy Holly".
