My Secret Lover - Private Has anyone heard these guys yet? Their album is fucking awesome. Great 80s inspired pop. Def. a Prince influence too as I can hear some Linn in the mix at times. Its like The Human League meets Prince with a 4ft 2in sounding Adam Levine from Maroon 5 on vocals. Check 'em out.

hehe...nice. listening to the album more there's some def. Prince-isms in there. The song "one in a million" kicks off almost exactly the same as Private Joy.

You may remember Thomas (the lead singer/producer) because he was the main collaborator on Junior Senior's breakthrough album "D-D-D-Don't Stop The Beat." He produced their big hit "Move Your Feet" and much of the more infectious stuff on that album.

Please tell me you feel "Let's Make Love (Underneath The Appletree)" it's a TOTAL PRINCE PROTEGEE/AROUND THE WORLD IN A DAY throwback. Yeah, this guy is totally channelling Revolution-era Prince on this album. Also I feel some Mike Jack-isms in "Killer On The Dance Floor" and "Crucify My Heart." This album is DELICIOUSLY INFECTIOUS. I could slit my wrist and fall in a puddle of rainbowssss! EUPHORIA. lolll Dear God, I wish I could hear this LP on some huge club speakers.

It's so funny. My friend called me on the phone and left a voice message and I heard "Killer On The Dancefloor" blasting in the background while they were talking.
