Well although I do love "Smooth" and "Game of Love" I agree that it would be nice if Santana got back to singing his own songs.

Santana doesn't sing, he hires vocalists

he's become overcommercialized crap the last 10 years

The answer is $. Supernatural gave him his first #1 album ever. You know how formulas are... if they bought the concept once they will buy it again.

Even if is post Supernatural albums haven't sold as well, this contemporary duet of the month thing might be still selling more units than his other stuff has.

Meh, I don't like Santana. Even his playing on those duet albums isn't all that good, he just plays the same licks the same way, and basically shits all over the song.
