Battle of the songs: Get It Together, JB or J5?

Which is your favorite version of the song "Get It Together" both recorded by James Brown and the Jackson 5?

James Brown: Get It Together - 1967 (11 R&B/40 Pop)
Jackson 5: Get It Together - 1973 (2R&B/28 Pop)
PRINCE: Always and Forever
MICHAEL JACKSON: Always and Forever

Easy choice for me...

...JB all the way

You dropped out of school before you got it down
You h'year me?
You dropped out of school before you got it down
Now you ain't hip, you're the biggest fool in town

Aaaaaw
Get It Together
Get It Together
Get It Together
Get It Together
Aaaaaaw, Maceo

Uh, blow now
Ha, do the underdog
Get on the log
Do the underdog
Uh, get on the log
Git it, git it, shotgun
Sock it, to 'em ha

Classic.

The J5 tune, although nice, sounds like Kiddie-Pop in comparison.

This is a hard choice for me. I've liked the J5 version since way back in the mid 90's when I discovered it. I always loved the instrumentation and everything about it.

Then, I discovered the JB track earlier this decade, it blew me away. It sounds so raw, rawer then his other funk tunes around that time (Cold Sweat, I Got the Feeling, Licking Stick, Mother Popccorn). Those horns and guitar riffs are just ...

Definitely the J5 version. It is, and always has been, my favorite cut by them.

It's JB meets the Temptations. MJ's vocals are very Ruffinesque on that cut.
I'm sick and tired of the Prince fans being sick and tired of the Prince fans that are sick and tired!
