SHADES....but their main problem was they were signed to Motown, which is like not being represented at all.

by the way yes, I do remember The Girls... I was in 5th grade when they came out and the only reason I remembered is because me and two of my friends did a talent show singing and dancing "Love is like an itching in my heart" we liked them b/c they were "school girl looking" with the school uniforms and we decided to use our private school outfits to dress...we did win in our catagory! And I did do a solo dance to "secret garden" in my toe shoes and won first place also...Those were the days...

now wait a minute. which "the Girls" group are you refering to? Would that be the one that Andre Cymone produced? If so, I absolutely love them and that album rocks. what happened with them? There was also another group called "The Gyrlz" ( i think that's how you spell it) that i think was produced by Al B. Sure....

Jomanda I thought they're music was hot (I am an old school house head). They were the 80's prototype for EnVogue.

That would be KP and Envyi. They play that damn song on an oldies station here ALL OF THE TIME!!!

Didn't they do that song "My Boo" on a So So Def compilation in the late 90s. You know "At night I think of you, I want to be your lady baby. If your game is on give me a call boo"?

Les Nubians are still around. Didn't they release a cd last year?
Mary Mary is still around and are HUGE in the gospel arena.
I heard that Brownstone maybe getting back together. (Who knows? That was last year that I heard that.).

As for some of the other groups mentioned, Members of 3LW went on to participate in The Cheetah Girls.

I remember the video for "If It's Games You're Playing". I liked that song.

The Girls, for anyone that doesn't know, was Andre Cymone's version of Vanity 6 in the 80s.
