I know what andy said about it being slow but if you hate modern hip-hop, screwed & chopped is the best way to actually enjoy it IMO. I always laugh @ Kanye's vocals when it's screwed and chopped. He sounds like Slim Thug.

Well Im a 1/2 New Yorker and it just sounds.....like a slowed down track...people just think its special because they dont know how to do that. Its so simple and basic anyone can do. Even slowing down the tempo on a lp is equivilant of the same exact thing. Like playing 331/2 on a 45 I actully enjoy Hip hop from only East Coast...the others I dont really feel at all. The misconception about screwed and chopped music is that people only from Houston can dig it but I think it's basically a Dirty South thing. I'm from NC so I dig it. I guess it's an acquired taste for some. I love it because it makes crappy hip-hop records (and some good hip-hop records) better IMHO.

Screwed is a slowed down track, that's why it sounds slowed down. Rappers in Houston started the Screwed and Chopped movement. When the rappers were sippin' syrup or on that stuff, they would slow the beat down, because that's how it made them feel when syrup sippin' and what not. PRINCE: Always and Forever

Shit just sound dumb 2 me...I'd rather hear a Camille track done from "Future Baby Mama" or something. Whatever float peoples boat....but Through The Wire was not to be fucked with.
