I could write the same thing about you. You implied that I make up my statements on Janet Jackson. You did not even first write this as a response to my post but to someone else's. How is that not baiting me? If you think that Janet Jackson is as iconic as Madonna in Japan, and that Japanese and Koreans follow the lives of the Jacksons, go ahead. Think that. I still stand by my own statements. Stand by yours instead of accusing people of something that you yourself are.

why do you go out of your way to prove janet is not as important as madonna and mj in all these other countries? what does this thread even have to do with that? like i said you take every chance you get to bash janet, nothing you say is a proven fact its your opinion. do you think because you claim janet has no talent its a fact? there are millions of people who would disagree with you and im one. you are a young kid who think you know everything, you even tried to dispute me when i said only janet and madonna have had #1 pop songs in the 80's,90's and 00's, when i told you to show me who else did it you brought up the 'rest of the world' thing. janet is huge in japan, matter fact thats like her 2nd biggest market, just because you not a fan or dont follow her career dont mean she has no presence there...the reason you have troll-like habits is because no matter what the subject of the thread, if the name jackson comes up you go into your bash janet routine.

Maybe
Additionally it's quite possible that his wife might be even in o it
Thats how its like eith Eddie Murphy & Sting
In france i met Trudie Styler,(an unbelievable woman, gorgeous too for english)
And if you didn't know already, she and Sting are a bunch of swingers...
and they've been together forever...
So i really don't know about Marlon
but it is a big possibility that he might share lovers with his wife...
thats probably who got him into it...
im just speculating of course

Well, they were kids at the time and I think Carol was more like a fan who was initially Michael's pen pal and Michael happened to introduce her to Marlon and I guess she became Marlon's Pen pal too, and the rest is history.

disbelief

Have you lived in East Asia? I think I have a better grasp of her popularity in East Asia than you. I said that she had had success with her dance songs in Japan, but that she is seen as Michael Jackson's younger sister and a black Madonna without the iconic status. What about this statement makes me a "troll"? If you are curious, I suggest you check out Japanese internet forums, newspapers, and TV programs. I mentioned all of this in a previous post because an orger was upset over how some consider the Jacksons as an American embarrassment. And I answered that in East Asia, no one gives a shit about most of the Jacksons; in that post I mentioned the fact that Janet has had success in Japan without achieving the iconic status like Madonna. If it makes you feel better, as for her breast exposure at the Superbowl, no one gave a shit compared to a number of conservative Americans. How does writing this make me a troll?

BTW, it is not just MY OPINION that Janet is not as big as Madonna over here. It is a FACT. But of course, this has nothing to do with the thread except to prove that because she is not as important, her actions do not send shock waves across the Korean peninsula and the Japanese islands, like some Americans think -- translation: the Jacksons are not seen an embarrassment in East Asia. Satisfied? neutral

On a final note, do you get this upset when someone "bashes" Madonna? Because she is criticized just as much as Janet, if not more.

Fine. Go ahead and think that Janet Jackson is as iconic as her brother and Madonna in Japan, and that the "Orientals" follow the lives of the Jacksons to the teeth. Think that because Janet and the rest of her siblings are so HUGE in Japan and South Korea, her EVERY move is followed. Right. The Jacksons are an embarrassment, for sure. Rodya you do seem to look for any oppurtunity to bash Janet but anyway, Janet is big in Japan. I remember seeing a performance of her in Tokyo on her "Rhythm Nation" tour and all these Japanese girls were dressed in military jackets and were wearing earrings with the key on it just like Janet. She's iconic in Japan whether you want to believe it or not.

neutral I never denied that Janet was successful here. I said in this thread that she has had success with her dance songs. In fact, in another thread, I said that she has done better chart-wise in Japan than her brother.

disbelief

She might have been successful in the past, but to call her an icon on the level of Madonna or MJ like some Americans think she is is wrong. And to argue that because she is a Jackson or that because the Jacksons have been successful as recording artists, all of them are seen as an American embarrassment in Japan is wrong too. The world does not revolve around the US or the Jacksons. Hard to swallow for some (not you), I know.

sos. I like you. You're generally one of the more intelligent orgers, but you're in a minority of one if you don't realise that Janet is far less popular than Madonna internationally and always has been. Rodya is completely right and I think you'll find most people around here, be they American, European, or Asian already know that. If you've gone around for the last twenty years thinking Janet was a phenomenon all over the world then I'm sorry to tell you otherwise, but she's not. She's had success in most territories, but nowhere near the success she's had in America. The same was true of Mariah Carey until, perhaps, her last album. Here in the UK Janet's never had a number one and her greatest significance for most is her connection to Michael. She was a medium-level star for about twelve years, but never more. Now that's still quite an accomplishment, but take one look at the popularity of Whitney, Madge, or even Prince, and it's soon put into perspective. It's the same story in most countries outside the US. I'm surprised you don't already know this. Most do.

Janet is somewhat an icon. She's one of the most successful female entertainers of all time
She might have been successful in the past, but to call her an icon on the level of Madonna or MJ like some Americans think she is is wrong. And to argue that because she is a Jackson or that because the Jacksons have been successful as recording artists, all of them are seen as an American embarrassment in Japan is wrong too. The world does not revolve around the US or the Jacksons. Hard to swallow for some (not you), I know.

Marlon still looks the same -- and given his age, he looks great.
