Joe was never a Witness. Kathrine said when the children were young and old enough to make the decision for themselves, they could choose to be a Jehovah's Witness or not.

Only a couple of the kids were Jehovah's witness, LeToya being the most serious one, with I believe Mike right behind her.

Rebbie, LaToya, and Michael were baptized. LaToya was excommunicated in 1986 and Michael left in 1987.
Rebbie is still a Witness. Jermaine is a muslim and Marlon is catholic

How do you define 'sanity' and 'normalcy'?

A breast.
Child support.
Cosmetic surgery
Physical child abuse [beatings, whoopings, according to Joe, those are two different things]
Child molestation [accused]
Adultery

All of these are all common occurrences in life. I remember reading some blog-bopper saying that the Jacksons are "America's embarrassment". Well I'll be damned. All those aforementioned things happen in everyday life with everyone. Its funny, if you've ever visited these blogs you'll see everyone talking about how "creepy" or "scary" they'll describe this type of shit. Where do they live, Utah? eek When I read America's embarrassment I screamed out laughing. A musical family in entertainment is the United States of America's embarrassment? Yeah, foreign nations hate America because of the Jacksons eek

You know whose had a real, fucked up life? Aileen Wuornos . Slept with her brother at a young age, nearly every family member of hers had died one by one, later became a prostitute, was raped/beaten by some of her Johns, killed seven men to make a living by jacking their cars, taking money and/or whatever else they had for herself so she and her lesbian lover to live off of, was diagnosed with lunacy, was sent to prison on death row more then a decade and later died in 2003.

Yeah, thats what I thought. neutral

Well, since you are mentioning how some see the Jacksons as an "American embarrassment," to be honest, outside of the United States, at least in Japan and South Korea, when the Jacksons are mentioned, no one gives a shit about the rest of the family except for Michael. Janet is seen as his little sister with minimal talent who has had dance songs which have done well in Japan; a black Madonna without the iconic status. All the other shit (accusations of child abuse, numerous plastic surgeries, homophobic beliefs of the parents; the abusive father) does not get much attention here when compared to the UK and the US.

But I can understand why a number of people find the actions and beliefs of some of the Jacksons disturbing. I, for one, find the homophobia of the parents disgusting.

Went to dinner with him...
said i can have anything i wan't
Spent the whole night talking, we had alot in common
When it was time to take me back to my friends house...
He kept insisting for me to come home with him...
And no lie...

When i told him how flattered i was, and that im not gay...
he said "Neither am i" and winked...
I called a taxi back to my friends house...

I agree as well, considering that it was Marion (not Michael) that had the worst of Joseph's wrath during their childhood years. You think because of this, Marion would be the most mess up in the head sometimes. But it isn't the case at all.

You've hit on an important point here, but you clearly haven't been able to follow it to it's logical conclusions. Michael has always used his father's rough treatment as a major justification for his weird ways. His fans, being a gullible bunch, have uncritically swallowed this, but as you've pointed out, Marlon got far worse treament than Michael did. ALL of the brothers were treated badly by Joseph, not just Michael, so that is a very weak excuse. The other excuse always used for his weirdness is his "lost childhood". Sure, that's a tough thing to deal with but Michael is not the only child star in history. Just ask Donny Osmond who was forced to perform full-time from the age of three, yet as far as I know has never dangled a baby from a hotel window. So these are red herrings to divert attention away from the real issue, and that is Michael's repressed homosexuality. That's where it all stems from. I suggest some of you watch Louis Theroux's interview with Joseph in the program When Louis Met Michael. It will give you an insight into the violently homophobic environment Michael was raised in.

Please.

How is writing that in Japan and South Korea no one could give a shit about other members of the Jackson family with the exception of Michael not factual? I suppose you want me to write that everyone in Japan follows the lives of Jermaine, Janet, Marlon, etc. That is not true at all. Again, the world does not revolve around the US. Shocking, is it not?

How am I "bashing" Janet Jackson? What I have written is true: she does not have the iconic status as Madonna in Japan, but she has done well chart-wise. Did you want me to write that Japanese and Koreans view her as a phenomenal musical talent who exudes charisma? An icon on the level of Elvis?

I have to agree with you on the last point. It is disgusting how homophobic both his parents are.

But you don't think that has any bearing at all on his own psychology, right? Remember this is a man who counts Every Gay Man's Best Friend Elizabeth Taylor as his nearest and dearest. Not to mention other gay-friendly associates like Liza Minelli and former compadres like Liberace and Freddie Mercury.
