I think, especially listening to "All I Need," this might be their funkiest album.

I find myself almost dancing to 15 Step, and I totally groove to All I Need and House Of Cards. The world is a comedy for those who think and a tragedy for those who feel.

I think those are just the extra b-sides. This is the complete album. It isn't.

Just to add my tuppence worth. I like the album, I think it's quite beautiful at times. Definitely there best since Kid A. My favourite album of theirs still has to be The Bends though, although that was more trad rock n roll, and they've since gone off to more experimental pastures. This is kind of a bridge between Ok Computer and Amnesiac though, but I like it, one of the best albums to come out this year definitely.

Yes. It's like this is exactly what I want to hear from Radiohead right now. Hard to say why. I mean, I don't want repeats of other albums. This is just a perfect, confident, soulful, tranquil, well-balanced album. IMO. And as far as the bonus disc, I look at that as part 2 of In Rainbows. Not so much as b-sides, or a bonus disc as a continuation of the same album. On vinyl it's a double LP. I look at In Rainbows as a double album. LP and CD. Fantasy is reality in the world today. But I'll keep hangin in there, that is the only way.

I hold Kid A/Amnesiac Sessions really high.. I think kid a is the best thing in a long while.. but I will say this..
In regards to OK Computer and In Rainbows.. These two are really easy to turn on and get into very quickly.. something about the production value, and melodies.. they are all very simple sounding, and they don't seem to get tiring very quickly.. I'll give in Rainbows more time.. but It has been the only thing I have been playing for 7 straight days, and I still feel really happy about the songs.. they seem to be developing with time.. much in the same respect as OK Computer did... this collection of songs have that quality to them where u aren't afraid to hit the repeat button. having said that.. I can't wait to hear the second disk

Gotta say, I'm almost as excited by this thread as by the album - I didn't know that there was such a strong base of closet radiohead fans here...
OTOH, joining this late, I either have to just agree with the people who've expressed reactions similar to mine or repeat them. I really like the album and also agree with the inital feeling that this is "nothing new" fr radiohead - there are echoes of at least the last 3 albums, so it's a kind of overview, but why would that be a bad thing? I find HTTT a little bit of a downer to listen to these days. OTOH it had me on a high for a couple of weeks when it was released. I doubt In Rainbows will have as strong a reaction in either direction. I'm not jumping up in the air with glee, but I'm enjoying listening toit and imagine I will continue to do so for a long time. This is also different from Kid A and Amnesiac which grabbed me immediately in terms of fascination but were real growers in terms of becoming fave albums. Funnily enouigh, The Bends also falls into this category. It took a while to get under my skin and get me to pay attention, but they've been my favourite band ever since. OK Computer was more like HTT (but to a far greater degree) in that I was jumping up and down in excitement for weeks agter its release (these days I find it alittle hard to listen to although parts still give me shivers - PA always will). So to sum up - In Rainbows is a good Radiohead album. It may be a grower but I doubt it, but I'm glad I've got it. Now, because I'm on a P forum, I've got to say that it could be an interesting exercise to substitute names of Prince albums for those mentioned in the paragraphs above and see how well it fits... Oh, and I payed 2.5 pounds - how did u guys have the heart to write 0.00? "We've never been able to pull off a funk number"

Oh, and I payed 2.5 pounds - how did u guys have the heart to write 0.00?[/quote] First off, welcome. Second, on terms of your question, I think alot of us who paid 0.00 are gonna buy the discbox set and /or buy the hard copy versions when available. At least I know I am. I'm sure others will do the same. I don't really have the funds to pay for it 2 or 3 times. I've bought everything they have available CDs/DVDs etc, and will buy future items (hard copies) so I don't feel bad at all. Fantasy is reality in the world today. But I'll keep hangin in there, that is the only way.

k.. here it the thing.. Radiohead is fully aware that everyone knows the mp3's are "free" it is a donation type thing giving them money for such a brave act.. most all fans are gonna buy the box set. so its win win win for everyone.
no'one is bad for putting 0.00.. relax peeps

The transition from pablo honey (except creep, that's the reason I bought it), to The Bends is astounding 2010: Healing the Wounds of the Past.... http://prince.org/msg/8/325740

Finally listened to this album and it is absolutely stellar. To me, Hail to the Theif felt forced and just something to kill the time. I love the mixture of the electronic with the traditional and Thom is putting a little something extra in his vocal delivery. Amazing 2010: Healing the Wounds of the Past.... http://prince.org/msg/8/325740
