This record really is amazing. Like it much better than Comfort Woman, that I never really got into. Propably Top 3 from her for me.

I couldn't get to much into Comfort Woman either. It was way too laidback for my taste! Check me out and add me on:

Which is your fav track?

Um… Wow. I wasn’t quite ready for this one. Meshell definitely brought it. It’s a bit more stream of consciousness than I’d expected – kinda like the lovechild of COOKIE and COMFORT WOMAN conceived in a night of hotboxing and ecstatic prayer.
Haditha creeps me out – not so much for the foreboding prophecies as the vari-speed recording of the speaker. Perfectly eerie, which makes the launch into The Sloganeer: Paradise all the more freeing. What an exhilerating way to start the album! From there, the best moments for my money include Elliptical, Shirk and Solomon. My immediate favorite is Headline. (The last 30 seconds of that track are worth half the price of the CD, IMHO.) But Headline is TOO SHORT, so thank God Meshell brings that same brand of funk back for the bonus track Soul Spaceship! (Good looking out, Graycap23. ) This CD will be invisible to radio, and fans of melody won’t have terribly much to cling to here, but for anyone into freeform experiment, I think this may go down as a classic. It keeps getting better and better upon each listen. It detours so much, even within songs, yet it is a cohesive, tight album. There's a lot of nuances and different textures and sounds. It's identifiably MeShell. It's wonderully unique, but still very musical.
I know people get emotional when we talk about Prince and other artists, as if it's a competition, but could you imagine Prince's take on this album? This is the sort ingenuity and passion I'm waiting for Prince to release. I like his recent stuff, but it just doesn't "Wow" me. If I had to choose between Prince's catalog and Meshell's while stranded on an island - Prince, hands down. But, "The World has Made me..." or "Plant Earth" (or Musicology or 3121 for that matter) -- Please, there's no contest. MeShell in a landslide. I LOVE this album.

Sorry for the unintended headfake. Dust off some Coltrane you haven't heard in a while. I'm sure some will amount to a reintroduction.
