Too many Beatles albums; not enough classic hard-rock/metal (no Judas Priest albums ,); the 80's are not well represented (no new romantics, no early electronica); not enough 90's albums; some of the selections are odd, to say the least: for example, they have chosen all The Police albums except, curiously, their biggest masterpiece: Zennyattà Mondatta and the ranking itself is stupid: Let it be (86!), of the Beatles, better than, for example, Bowie's Low (249)???? no way!!!

naw i actually counted 101, with a large majority being blues or jazz albums.thats like 20% of the list...of all the great muscic created by black artists throughout history 20% is pathetic.the thing that bothers me is if you gonna include some of these rap albums as all time greats, shouldnt you give props to the artists that originally recorded the songs they sampled from?

If I were to sit down and do a 500 GAOAT I would say "fuck it" around the 100 mark because as soon as I look @ some of the remaining albums, I would be like "Damn this belongs in the top 50", "this belongs in top 100", "this belongs in the top 20" and so on and so on. I am sure they have 500 pre-selected albums that they have the voters choose from. My question is who selects the 500 that are to be voted on.

I like about 70%, maybe less; of the LP's selected on the list. I know the order of some of those would change. "on StarMon's list".


A true list would be this. Choose any 500 albums you like (no pre-selected choices to choose from, put your brain to work and think). Send them in, and we compile them.

Still' someone will get tired around the 100 mark and say "fuck it", and just start writing any albums down, just to hurry.
