My Picks for Top Albums of 2007:
1. Jill Scott :: The Real Thing Words & Sounds Vol.3
2. Joss Stone :: Introducing Joss Stone
3. Prince :: Planet Earth
4. Common :: Finding Forever
5. Maroon 5 :: It Won't Be Soon Before Long
6. Chaka Khan :: Funk This
7. KanYe West :: Graduation

....That's all folks!

The Most Disappointing Album I brought was:
Macy Gray's Big- Some good cuts, but average to me!

My Favorite reissue/compilation was:

I can't determine whether Marvin Gaye's In Our Lifetime: The Expanded Love Man Edition or Sly's & The Family Stone's highly anticipated box set, simply titled, Collection, was my favorite. So I'll have to cheat and say both were my favorite reissues of 2007.
i didn't even know Jill's album was out.

I agree. I like it more than last year's Pretty Little Head which was mildly disappointing after her wonderfully zany debut Get Away From Me.

Definitely. Although, I keep scaring people every time I put on that first track. smile

"Mother Of Pearl" is hilarious! People were dying when she first sung it live here before the album came out.

7. Sneaky Sound System - Sneaky Sound System

Yesss @ Love for the SSS album! I wish I could see them live. I'd be all over that show.

Very good album. Best she's made in years. Hearing her do "Something's Gotta Blow" live with a Fender is worth it all.

I still need to pick up the new albums by Talib Kweli, Jill Scott, Meshell, and Chaka. I also need to give Donnie's The Daily News a good listen. As of right now, I can say this much:

2. Amy Winehouse - Back to Black (this was released early this year here in the U.S.)
1. Crowded House - Time on Earth

Favorite Reissues: Marvin Gaye - In Our Lifetime? (Expanded Love Man Edition)

Favorite Concerts: Seeing my two favorites, Crowded House and Stevie Wonder

I think it's meant to be light-hearted, but to me it looks ominous. Maybe it's the music.

There is also a clip for "Prescilla".

I bought '07 albums by the Clientele and Ladybug Transistor this morning, and the first few spins of both were highly enjoyable. Too early to slot them as top 10 records of course, but they're on my radar.

Matchbox Twenty - Exile On Mainstream
Charles Shaw - Does Your Mother Know (Maxi Single)
R. Kelly - Double Up
Prince - Planet Earth

Seal's new album comes out in November and the Santana greatest hits album comes out this winter. I'm really excited about both of those.

Plus hopefully 2007/2008 will see a MJ release. However, I won't hold my breath. wink

Did anyone catch him on ABC's Dancing With The Stars show last week? He sang his hit song, Kiss From A Rose and his performance was very pitchy. I think he just came down with a common cold or something, because it was a bad performance.
