Steve Vai made his triumphant return to his hometown last night in NYC.

My God.

He starts out with a several hour meeting with fans who pay for the Premium experience; basically you meet Steve backstage, see how he sets up his gear, sit in on his sound check, and interview him with any (ANY!) questions you want. He autographs anything you want, and you have free reign before the gig.

Then he puts on a two hour show...blistering guitar work, good humor, virtuosos on acoustic and ELECTRIC violin, funky bass work, some really funny "dancing", and the most incredible display of Masterful guitar work.

After this show you either want to pick up a guitar for hours or you decide to never pick up a guitar again.

His talent is only surpassed by his modesty.
