Madonna Die Another Day

Sorry if this was already posted, the search isn't working AGAIN!!

Anyway, how many have heard the new Madonna song and what do you all think of it? I like it, but I don't think it's her best. Sounds a little too much like "Music".

For those who haven't heard it, go to www.madonnarama.com and look for the link under the poll...

I hate this 40's "bugle boy of company b" look... It makes her look way old. Her hair is styled very poorly 4 her face... nope, don't like it.

The song, however, isn't all that bad.

I like the strings but that's about it so far. It's not hitting me like it should. For other references to this song, there have been a couple of org threads about it-

and I think maybe even a bit on here- http://www.prince.org/msg...&tid=23566

Anyone know if there will be a cd single release in the USA?
Or a maxi-single?
Or is this a strictly import deal?

By the way - I find if you are looking for import cd singles the prices at Amazon.com - U.K. aren't too bad. Take the base price + shipping & handling x conversion rate = cheaper than Tower or Virgin in N.Y.C. A cd single costs a little oover $10 that way which is slightly cheaper than the major outlets in N.Y.C.

I haven't heard it yet, but I heard it's very techno. Is it?

It's a'ight. Infectious beat, but it doesn't really go anywhere. A little boring, IMO, but it could be huge in the clubs.

The 'Die Another Day' soundtrack CD will be released on November 11.There are no other Madonna songs on it,but the CD does come with the music video and the "Making Of" documentary so if you're a Maddy fan,you will wanna buy this.

The "Die Another Day" single will be released on October 28th.The B-side will be a remix.Speaking of remixes, there will be a also be a maxi-single containing the radio edit of the song plus 5 other remixes. Not sure of the release date.

So,yes, the song will definitely be released as a single in the U.S.

I heard this song and its bloody awful. When is Madonna gone stop this techno madness and start making memorable music again. Her voice is awful now, way too studied and contrived.

Btw,I've been listening to this song over and over and I believe these are the correct lyrics...

"Die Another Day" Lyrics---

I'm gonna wake up,yes and no
I'm gonna kiss some part of
I'm gonna keep this secret
I'm gonna close my body now

I guess I'll die another day
I guess I'll die another day
I guess I'll die another day
I guess I'll die another day

(repeat 4 more times)

Sigmund Freud
Analyze this! Analyze this!

I'm gonna break the cycle
I'm gonna shake up the system
I'm gonna destroy my ego
I'm gonna close my body now

I think I'll find another way
There's so much more to know
I guess I'll die another day
It's not my time to go
For every sin,I'll have to pay
A time to work,a time to play
I think I'll find another way
It's not my time to go

I'm gonna avoid the cliche
I'm gonna suspend my senses
I'm gonna delay my pleasure
I'm gonna close my body now

I guess I'll die another day
I guess I'll die another day
I guess I'll die another day
I guess I'll die another day

I think I'll find another way
There's so much more to know
I guess I'll die another day
It's not my time to go

Repeat chorus...the synths have these lyrics melted into them...

I can't show my secret
I can't show my secret
I can't show my secret
I can't show my secret

Btw,I've noticed that the "radio edit" version doesn't contain the laugh that you hear it on the longer version that a New York radio station aired last Friday. That version also has a better, different ending.

Here's the latest update from Billboard.com...

"Madonna's New 'Day' Heating Up Radio"

Although it wasn't intended to debut on U.S. radio until next week,a leaked copy of Madonna's "Die Another Day",the theme song to the upcoming James Bond movie of the same name,is already getting heavy airplay on stations around the country. An accompanying video clip will premiere Oct.10 on MTV's "Making The Video" series.A commercial single, featuring remixes by such acts as Thunderpuss and Felix Da Housecat,is due Oct.22.

The new track is all over the airwaves in major markets, having been spun more than 100 times in less than a week by two Miami stations alone. It is expected to debut next week on the Billboard Hot 100 on the strength of airplay.Madonna has a cameo as a fencing instructor in "Die Another Day",a soundtrack for which is due Nov.12 via Warner Bros.

Meanwhile,Madonna told "Today" host Matt Lauer that she has almost finished up her next Maverick album, which is expected sometime next year. The artist is promoting her upcoming film "Swept Away",which she described as "an angry love story".As previously reported,"Swept Away" was directed by Madonna's husband,Guy Ritchie.

For an artist like Madonna (who is primarily a "dance music artist"),commercial remixes by top DJs and producers is a must. It's mainly aimed at the clubs. For the most part,I thought her remixes for the 'Ray Of Light' singles sucked big time. But I loved the remixes for the 'Music' singles, those were kickass!

I don't think so.You can plainly see what makes Prince a talented Musician along with people like Stevie Wonder. If you apply what makes those people great to Madonna, there's nothing there. She's all image, sex appeal and brashness and precious little else, infact since she's been married to Guy Ritchie,he's put his foot down and made sure she doesn't act that way anymore (how old fashioned!), so much for being a 'headstrong, do anything she wants' type of girl,Was that all an act? if it was it was a great performance (unlike all the rest in her acting career).

Granted her voice has improved a great deal and she has had some half-decent songs.I wouldn't say any are classics or groundbreaking though.Like a virgin stole Billie Jeans Bassline and Material girl's was basically the jacksons 'can you feel it' speeded up slightly.

'Like a prayer' is the shining light in her back catalogue,i pass on the rest.crap.

well madonna i can see but still like you said some of them suck i just dont understand the need for "everyone" to cross over to clubs with those remixes

i mean do you want to be in a club and have the techno remix of a Korn/limp bizkit song come on?..i think not smile

First of all,Guy Ritchie may be Madonna's husband but you can bet that SHE still does what she wants. If her behavior has changed since being married,it's because she is a different person than she was back then. She's more mature, more spiritual and SHE HAS TWO KIDS!! Don't act as if Guy has her on a leash...lol...

As for the rest of your post...I think Madonna's impressive career and continued success speaks for itself,so I won't even bother with another discussion about her talent. But you're implying that some of her songs STOLE the music from the Jacksons?? Whatever.

I really like the new song. I was on the freeway when I first heard it and I almost stopped the car in mid-traffic. It sounds very much like Music but that's cool. A good song indeed.
I'm not a fan of "old Prince". I'm not a fan of "new Prince". I'm just a fan of Prince. Simple as that
