With all of these recent threads about Madonna I think she is completely overated!!! I am the type that even though I may not like your art I will acknowledge talent. Now concerning Madonna I just do not understand.

1. That woman cannot sing, very average voice.

2. She was kind of cute in back in the 80's but she is
average pretty.

3. That sex book was a joke. She has no body whatsoever!!!
no ass, no figure ok chest.

4. I will say she is not a bad actress

5. No rythym or dancing skills unless she is doing practiced dance movements. (ie compare her to Miss Janet - no comparison)

6. Completely dependent on a controlled environment, video shoots or elaborate stage production, meaning Madonna is not strong when it comes to giving open performances like the Purple Man.

8. Weak live performer, remember her debut "Like A Virgin"
when she was rolling all over the floor or "The Vogue"
performance with all that weak ass choreagraphy, she
raised her dress big deal!!!

7. I just do not understand why she is such a sex symbol
now if she looked like Ashley Judd or Sharon Stone or
Marilyn Monroe I would understand but she is does not.


Now what I will say about Madonna is that she is a extremely strong and intelligent woman and yes her ambition is unparalled when speaking of female artists. Maybe that is where talent lies and the source of her success. Other than that I just don't understand!!!

I kind of agree with you there.
She is a Leo and they basically just want attention. The critics don't like most of her movies except for Evita.
I liked her album Ray of Light. I think she is a savvy business woman and a good entertainer.

Errr, I disagree about the dancing. She's a professionally trained dancer. And to say Janet Jackson is better is ludicrous. She's even more stiff and choreographed than most people out there. She just knows how to move her arms in different sequences, but there's little passion or spontaneity with Janet, unlike say her brother

I'm a massive Madonna fan, but I've gone off her recently. It's kind of made me re-think what I loved so much about her in the first place, because now she's a middle aged mother I actually find HER as a person/public figure, quite dull. 10 years ago you could say anything about Madonna, but NEVER dull. She changed for the better through natural progression for Ray of Light, but she hasn't changed since, so maybe they ever changing image of the woman was what was keeping me interested.

I think her "career" is classic. I think she'll be recorded in the history books as an important pop culture figure. I think she's done her fair share of classic songs, but I don't really think she's so much of a classic artist as a whole. There's no particular trait that has kept with her since the beginning, and therefore few things for future generations to look at and instantly identify as "Madonna". The constant changing has kept her on top for as long as she can, but that's another story.

1. Another one to jump on the Madonna can't sing bandwagon. I just think it's become the popular thing to say. What I find funny is that when she started out, many critics and fans thought that she was a black artist because her voice was so good. Her first 2 singles had no videos so nobody really knew what she looked like and her album wasn't out yet. I think she has a beautiful and expressive voice.

2. I think she's drop dead gorgeous. I can't tell you how many dreams I've had about this woman.

3. I love the Sex book. And I can't think of anyone with a better body. I guess she's just my type. See photo above.

6. If only every artist had that much control over their career. And she's a different kind of performer than Prince.

7. Whether you like her looks or not, it's pretty hard to deny her sex symbol status. She is sex.

8. The two shows I've been to were anything but weak.

I'm not gonna overdo it like some and say she's the best this, that or the other. But I do think she's very talented and there's a lot more to her than being a calculated, assimilating manipulator.

I whole-heartedly agree with the fact that Madonna is over rated. However, I do think she has a very good body, but then again who wouldn't if they performed and worked out the way she does. I do agree that she is an average singer and not a very good actress at all. I think she is totally stuck up and a great big phoney!! On the other hand, I have to give her credit for coming as far as she has. I just don't get why so many people love her and admire her so much. Yes, she is a good business woman, but she is not a good singer or actress. She's a skank with money! IMO
