Top 20 albums of the 1980's

I started the 70's list now I'm going closer to the present. Since most of us remember the 80's a whole lot more and there was more musical genres in this decade then I'm going with 20. Same rules apply. If a album came in late 79 into 80 then you can include it. Here's my list as follows:
1. Michael Jackson-Thriller
2. Prince-Sign'O'The Times
3. Van Halen-1984
4. Janet Jackson-Rhythm Nation 1814
5. Prince-Purple Rain
6. George Michael-Faith
7. Public Enemy-It Takes A Nation Of Millions To Hold Us Back
8. Whitney Houston-Whitney Houston
9. U2-The Joshua Tree
10. N.W.A.-Straight Outta Compton
11. Stevie Wonder-Hotter Than July
12. Janet Jackson-Control
13. Bon Jovi-Slippery When Wet
14. Beastie Boys-License To Ill
15. Run-DMC-Raising Hell
16. Lionel Richie-Can't Slow Down
17. Culture Club-Colour By Numbers
18. Michael Jackson-Bad
19. Genesis-Invisible Touch
20. LL Cool J-Bigger And Deffer
How does your list look like?
Peace and be wild!

I would have included TTD's Introducing The Hardline

I mostly bought 45s and 12 Inches in the 1980s. I only bought an album if I knew it was someone that was going to have a lot of good songs on it or if a song I wanted wasn't available on a 45 or 12 Inch.

Anyway, all the Prince, Rick James, and Barkays albums from 1980-1984. "No Parking On The Dance Floor" by Midnight Star and "Gap Band IV" by The Gap Band were two other albums in which every single track was good.

I have a lot of albums by Cameo, Roger and Zapp, etc. that have a lot of good songs on them but every song on the album is not great.
Andy is a four letter word.

2. Prince- Lovesexy (2)
3. Prince- Sign o' the Times (3)
4. Janet Jackson- Rhythm Nation 1814 (4)
5. The Cure- Disintegration (5)
6. Madonna- Like a Prayer (6)
7. Eurythmics- Sweet Dreams (Are Made of This) (7)
8. Eurythmics- 1984: For the Love of Big Brother (12)
9. Madonna- Madonna (15)
10. Eurythmics- Touch (16)
11. The Cure- Seventeen Seconds (17)
12. David Bowie- Scary Monsters (26)
13. Prince- Controversy (27)
14. George Winston- December (28)
15. Prince- Parade (31)
16. Prince- Purple Rain (34)
17. The Cure- Japanese Whispers (35)
18. The Cure- The Head on the Door (37)
19. The Smiths- Strangeways, Here We Come (42)
20. Roxette- Look Sharp! (50)

The 80s are so dominant for me. This list makes it look like I only appreciate a few artists, but there are many others who have placed albums high in my top 300.

The 80s place 32 albums among my top 100 and 97 in my top 300. woot!

QUESTION: On what is this criteria based? Personal favorites? Critical acclaim? Some attempt to mirror Billboard chart success? Are we including all genres or a certain amount of genres (on this board, mostly soul and rock/pop)?

To . . . ask what Prince and Non-Prince albums we'd rank in our top 20 for the purposes of debate and discussion?

(That's just a guess though.)
