I also said that I will never tolerate anyone bullying them or threatning them....

Are we comparing Prince to MJ in this thread? Nope. So that has absolutely no bearing on this topic whatsoever. But again, if people are trying to justify MJ's comeback with "Well, look what so-and-so did/didn't do" then that speaks volumes about how far he's fallen anyway.

Yeah, he's fallen tons, lol.

I love the part where someone in the end says "Who cares?" after witnessing the fanatics going insane.

Michael Jackson is still popular around the world. Sure he is not as popular as he used to be, but no one can be on the top forever (with the exception of Madonna -- but she is LADY MADONNA lol).

Well, the link works, and it does connect one to the Chicago Sun-Times.

I agree with you. No album will outsell Thriller. I am not singling out Michael Jackson in writing this; it is just common sense. Even the albums by the hot new acts (Rihanna, Beyonce, Justin Timberlake) with all the promotion those receive are not selling much when compared to sales a decade ago.

if you want to put that label as homophobic then fine... but I know im NOT afriad of them.. and I don't disrespect and would NOT mistreat them....

and the thing is I truely understand about homosexuals.... its you guys who don't... but everyone is going to know the truth eventually....

here's the definition of homophobia: unreasoning fear of or antipathy toward homosexuals and homosexuality...

NOW didn't i just say I have NO fear towards homosexuals...

NOT agreeing or not liking their lifestyle.. has NOTHING to do with Fear.. its about God.... its about what the bible.... I don't fear those people... there is NOTHING scarey about a homosexual.... I have NO hate towards them as a person...

so before you start labeling people.. you seriously need to know the definition of the words you choose to label people with....

and its sad when I just basically stand in agreement/obedience with what God says and everyone is saying that im evil...

Im not even going to get in to it that deep.. because people really will hate me lol lol or really God.. the one who speaks against that kind of stuff....

using hocus pocus as rationale doesn't exclude from being called homophobic. just as i've been informed about racism in the past my defintion is not same as certain people's because i don't know what is like for them

those of who are gay have a differnt understanding of the word as it affects our lifes.

it doesn't matter how you want to bundle it up to make yourself feel better about it, but it is homophobic.

This conversation brings up something which I've thought for a long time, and that is that the term "homophobic" is not really fit for purpose, although it seems to be the term we're stuck with. The word phobic means to fear something. This just confuses things needlessly because most gay-haters don't fear gays, they just hate them. They're disgusted by the idea of gay sex and think it's "wrong", due to their own narrow mindedness. So the word homophobic is flawed because it means people can wriggle out of that label by saying "I'm not afraid of gay people". Whoever thought of the word was trying to force their own interpretation of anti-gay sentiment onto us.

i agree homophobic probably isn't the best word, however it's the only word we have at the moment. Homoist? the lexicon is flawed so we'll just have to use what we got.

Of course that doesn't rule out the idea that there may be fear involved in anti gay sentiment, but the point is so subtle that it makes things needlessly complicated. For instance it may be true that many racists fear blacks, but that doesn't mean we call them blackaphobic.

however dealing with race relations is a much older matter than issues of sexuality. therefore there are more words.

Beign gay was the subject that didn't get raised in society until 1969 and the Stonewall riots, so in away there isn't the terminology to deal with it.

i'm not saying the word is the best to use, just what i have. Homoist, hasn't seem to catch on, and for a long time gay people prefered the term homophile instead of homosexual, but the word didn't win out.

it's up to us to pick a better word.

eek

Has he ever been on the cover of VOGUE before? He does not strike me as someone (like Madonna or Janet Jackson) who poses for magazine covers often.

I read the thread on this topic, and I was surprised to learn that this is not just a rumor. Perhaps he IS planning on a return to making music after all. But I will believe that for sure when I have the album in my hands. nod

Well this thread stayed on subject, didn't it?

Shame there are people with outdated attitudes like TotalAlisa still about who don't even see that their views are extremely offensive and even worse, don't seem to care and try to justify it. Hopefully, one day she'll grow up and move out of her narrow-minded ways and finally see that the bible was actually written by men and God had no input to it whatsoever.

I still can't believe that there are people about who live their lives being guided by a horribly out-of-date fantasy novel rather than making their own decisions in life.

Back on subject, I'm looking forward to MJ's new album and hope that it's a huge improvement on the uninspiring Invincible album.
And I hope he becomes big enough again to tour on his own, because he doesn't need anybody else to bring him to the fore - Janet isn't necessary.

It's about time MJ came back to doing what he does best.
