hey, siskel and ebert gave her mad props for her performance in Poetic Justice...i think she is a decent actress that could be great if she finds the right director to pull her head out of her arse.

lol

she's a lot more natural then madge.

For those who are not interested in seeing Janet in the film, you behave as if you don't have an option not to watch her. Why waste time talking about or perhaps even paying attention to someone you could care less about? Doesn't make ANY sense. As for myself, I definitely look forward to seeing the movie.

I have no idea why they gave her props for poetic justice. the whole movie was a hot ghetto mess.

I never liked Poetic Justice. It had potential but missed the mark somewhere. I really thought Regina King should have had the lead role.

I didn't like Janet in this movie either. She was trying too hard. I think everyone else was fine.

Well, I didn't think she was trying hard enough. She behaved as if she's afraid to get down and dirty, ugly even. It was a pretty good effort nonetheless. Well, to me anyway. confused

Because Madonna set the bar so low for female popstars acting. Janet benefited from low expectations.

man, he has such an amazing body of music that it's sad to see him constrict it down to the basics. he's too talented for the lineup he's doing. estelle 81

Harlepolis

Ya'll motherfuckers are some picky snobs, I swear lol

Even though I'm not a fan of NONE of the 3(Tyler, Jilly and JJ) this seem like a promising watch - and I love Poetic Justice.

Frankly my dear I don't give a fuck! lol

I even loved Miki Howard's 2 seconds of the movie.

but she can act...she was great in good times, fame and different strokes and received a lot of kudos for her performance in Poetic Justice. I know you have a right to say she can't act but I tend to respect more..Expeciually when Roger Ebert says someone carries a movie..and Siskel didn't even disagree...although he did say Tupak was the one who stole the movie...

but is she a great actress? nope...but she could be if she allowed directors to direct her.

Yes, I dug her in Good Times but not on Different Strokes or Fame. I felt her performance in Poetic Justice was forced. I do not feel she carried the story at all but Regina King and Pac did.

It's groovy. Obviously people see something I don't and I am cool with that.

I'm with you here. Her performance on Diff'rent Strokes and especially Fame were nothing to write home about. If she weren't Janet Jackson, this wouldn't even be a discussion. She did okay. Nothing Emmy worthy. I don't think that's worth getting panties twisted over. smile

I don't like the Ad they have for the movie

and its soo weird for me to see janet in this kind of movie.... it seems like she doesn't belong.... that alone makes it hard for me to take this movie seriously... and even focus on her acting...

I can't imagine this movie doing good... and IM tired of Tyler Perry... why does he always have to have someone in church or use gospel songs in his movies...

This movie does not really seem interesting.. and janet should not have done this...

One last thing.. why does Tyler Perry have to star in every movie that he makes... he is just as bad as Spike Lee
