At least this week exposed MTV for what it is to all of America and the world

If there was any good to come from the shit of MTV this year, it would be that they exposed themselves for what they are. Where do we begin, shitty performances, crappy un-funny comedians, racist comments, fights over a 50 year old woman who has more surgery than MJ, and really bad music performances (sorry but if you found more than 1-2 decent ones you have lowered your standards beyond low) and we cant forget the WHINING crybaby either. But the coverage that MTV is getting for this is beyond any that they have gotten before for any of their shows, so maybe all of this crap was a good thing, because now the whole world can see what MTV has become and has to offer.

I see exactly what you are saying and I agree but truth is, MTV will continue to do what MTV does best and that's be a shitty channel. It's will be business as usual. Someone will have to do something along the lines of payola in a major way for changes to happen. I for one am praying for massive changes over on 1515 Broadway. pray

Well maybe just like the Don Imus incident shook up a little dust, maybe this will too. I think it MTV needs an overhaul and has needed it for sometime, it has to make a decision about what it is, a reality channel or a music channel, if it wants a reality channel than move all that programming to MTV2 and call it MTV-R and then totally shakeup the MTV, get rid of everyone, and start over, show videos 24/7 from everyone, new and old videos, block them like they used too, have themed video hours, and NO ONE artist gets a monopoly, not JT 16 times an hour or Beyonce's Latin favorites or anything like that. Be groundbreaking, how come no one in this generation can be groundbreaking?

I'm with you but the problem is, they'll tell you that they have a 24 hour music station on already called MTV Hits. Unfortunately everyone doesn't have satellite or digital cable to get it. Where do we go with that?

If Britney switched it on and Chris Brown only had sung a bit (he was great to watch, great energy) then it was actualy one of their better shows since the 90's. I dont watch MTV US. so I cant say anything about their normal prgraming. But more videos are required on music channels, I think that goes for all media, get over the reality show phase!! which they wont without a fight because its so cheap to make!

No i hear ya and that is the issue, Viacom want as much as they can get, they dont care what they are putting out there. If you broke down MTV and ran it on a basis of everyone gets played, the music scene would change so quick, and honestly labels wouldnt lose the money they do now. Why do labels bother spending money on artists to make videos if they arent going to get played? I mean think of all that waste going into a video with no audience, its scary that these new corporations are run by College Grads who apparently know nothing, very scary.

clapping xactly! i've been wondering 4 over the last 10 years what the M stands 4 cause it sure isn't music

thank god 4 the Tube network tho, they keep it music oriented only and show videos only. if the only thing i could add 2 the tube network is add more r & b videos from the 80's and 90's. it would give it a more better mix then just pop and rock videos

man, he has such an amazing body of music that it's sad to see him constrict it down to the basics. he's too talented for the lineup he's doing. estelle 81
