Britney Spears is rapidly becoming the new "Whacko Jacko". If Michael times it right, by the time he releases his new album, Britney will take all the negative attention away from him. Everyone will be so concerned about rubbishing Britney that they wont bother bringing up all the controversies Michael has had over the years and just concentrate on his music which will be even more of a highlight if Madonna bombs. If Madonna's new album bombs, and she fades away like she did after "American Life", Michael can claim the position of 80's popstar who has come back in a big way. The way I see it, everything is working out perfectly for Michael. And he has Britney, and maybe Madonna (we'll see) to thank for it.

Britney's terrible vma's performance will also make the public want Michael more. They will be screaming out for talent and if he does the complete opposite and does an amazing performance at next year's vma's, people will welcome him with open arms. Imagine a 95-like vma's performance from Michael at the 08 awards. That would be amazing and he'd pretty much garantee himself a successful comeback.

Thanks Britney. It's your turn to be "whacko jacko" for a while.
