Well Gwen has already been around for well over a decade and Beyonce just about a decade, so that is a lifetime nowadays. Outside of them Nelly needs to really embrace Latin music more i think thats where she is going, Ciara and Rihanna are too easy to re-produce so someone else who looks better will take their place. Fergie is already considered OLD by industry standards, but as long as BEP stays around she will. That group of females makes me long for Britney,Xtina,Jessica,and Mandy Moore.

Gwen = Madonna
Beyonce = Mariah (only slightly better dancer)
Ciara = Janet
Rihanna = Beyonce version 2.0
Fergie = Cyndi Lauper (only big for one, maybe two albums)
Nelly Furtado = eh...dunno. She's already flopped and come back, so who knows.

What about Pink?
I'll leave it alone babe...just be me

I took offense to that!!! Fergie cant touch Cyndi...Ms. Lauper may not have had huge mainstream success for long but he has sustained and has a solid, very devoted fan base...she is a excellent singer, writer, performer, musician, activist, human who gives her all on stage. Fergie does Candies commercials.

It is interesting that you asked about P!nk..because if there is anyone who can stand next to Cyndi..it is her...she has proven to be different from these other girls and puts on a great show. I think P!nk will continue to enjoy the occasional radio hit but her core fans will stick to her like Cyndi's fan base..no matter how many records she sells.

Fergie, Rhianna...they'll be opening state fairs soon.

Let's face it, it's good singing that people remember in the long run.
On that basis, it'll be Beyonce.

Gwen, Nelly and maybe Rihanna will probably be remembered for a few great tracks, but won't really be considered legends.

The rest, feh.

the newer girls on the block..yeah Beyoncé may have bneen an off choice but whatever..go with it! lol

what do you think of them?

which are your favourites?

who do you think is maturing musically?

who do you think will be around in 20 years?

hmmm

I honestly prefer the pop divas of the eighties who are no longer with us like Lisa Lisa, Sheena Easton and Samantha Fox.

I like Beyonce but it's overkill with the album releases and the confusing mix of singles and videos (like...what is her newest single anyway?). I think she'll be a lot like Diana Ross, although the songs might not stand up to the test of time. Legendary but in ten or so years, the hits will dry up but she'll always have the name.

I like Nelly a lot but I can't see her doing the kind of hot chart topping pop she is doing now forever....Who knows.

Gwen has been around for a while and I think she and No Doubt will be a lot like Blondie, although the membership probably won't change all the time. She might continue with the solo success for a little longer.

Fergie probably won't have legs and seems self destructive. Of the group, she'll have the most challenging future when it comes to more hits even though her new song is great and shows some range (finally!).

Ciara probably won't be around much longer only because the buying the general public isn't all about R&B divas (Beyonce is a media pop star if not in sound).

Rhianna is kind of a wildcard. The thing they are doing with by releasing an album AND at least one killer hit single every summer is pretty smart but can it last forever...and she doesn't write her own songs so can she really be "Madonna" like she claims (does she even have a steady production team like Janet or is it whoever is hot at the time).

It could be interesting to see where they are all in ten years and then twenty.

I couldn't agree more about the Fergie Cyndi connection making little to no sense. Cyndi is someone who had and still has crediblity and respect more than sales and hits. She was also eccentric, thus more like Pink.
