Nicole Scherzinger's second single (already)...What was she thinking?....*Paging lastdecember!* I just listened to Nicole Scherzinger's next single 'Super Villian' and I was expecting some out of control, crazy, dance track with some sassy lyrics.
Well...needless to say, I was a bit disappointed...I mean, its not bad, but not overwhelmingly good either You decide if its hot or not --> http://concreteloop.com/2...er-villain If you will, so will I

Well...needless to say, I was a bit disappointed...I mean, its not bad, but not overwhelmingly good either You decide if its hot or not --> http://concreteloop.com/2...er-villain Well it really goes like this. The label set her up with the tracks,producers,etc..and as i have always said in cases of artists with good vocals (Katharine McPhee falls into this category) , their records are more about showcasing "Producers and Beats" than showcasing their talents. I caught Nicole performing "Whatever U like" recently and i realized, shes too good for the music she is singing, to the point where it sounded "off". It is unfortunate that the material is just not on par with her vocals, but labels will not gamble on an artist making it just on their talent. Thats why they lined up every single top producer/beatmaker for her album, which is fine if you are a "below average" vocalist, but Nicole is far above the material she is working with. Well in terms of a lable thinking its going to have a commercial blockbuster i think anyones albums are "dreams" at this point. But Nicole is a year away from turning 30, which by industry standards especially for a female, is "old". The truth is that PCD made alot of money for Universal that they werent counting on, worldwide that album had 8 singles released, and their success in each country is really kind of crazy, but SMART, since the US market isnt at all what it was, you better be able to sell everywhere and tour everywhere and they have for the last 2 years . PCD's 2nd cd is already almost done, it will be out early in the year followed by another tour, each member is gonna get some vocals on the next cd. Also you should check out Jessica Sutta who is a member, she has a HOT video out (not a porn, its singing) for Paul Van Dyks new CD, i think the song is called "White Lies". Its not done yet, they originally wanted the "Nicole" cd to be out in the summer, but they were still touring and now have just wrapped an endorsment deal in the UK countries for a fashion company. PLUS the whole "find the new doll" show was really not a good idea since no one was leaving, and the doll that they found was "horrible and had some personality issues" they tried to move her to the Las Vegas "Dolls" show but she couldnt even deal with that. This is what happens when you have a judge panel with Lil Kim on it. They still wanted to get a cd out in November but with Nicole not out till October 16th it would be overkill at that point. She actually never was if it was up to her, but in that group Nicole and Melody are "hired hands" they are signed album per album, the other girls have been part of the "dolls" vegas show for awhile now. Yeah she is the lead vocalist and wrote on some of the tracks. On the next CD it will showcase each girls vocals on the tracks including lead. At this point due to their following in the world market, its in Universal's best interest to keep them all signed. I worked in Music Retail from 1988-2005 for the Musicland Chain, from 2000-2005 i also helped the companys RB Buyer who also writes an article in VIBE magazine each month, that was basically it and through that i always kept my connections. But despite what the ORG might believe i never slept with Cassie "We went where our music was appreciated, and that was everywhere but the USA, we knew we had fans, but there is only so much of the world you can play at once" Magne F

I don't even wanna imagine what kinda Music there will be 20 years from now.

Thanks i appreciate that, i got a post coming up shortly about MYA and what "politics" she is going through at Motown and seriously it will make u sick to hear that a label like MOTOWN is so clueless to just putting out music at this point. I'm definitetly interested in reading that. I was wondering about that situation. Motown IMHO started going down when Barry Gordy stepped down from his position. [Edited 9/5/07 17:35pm]

Did u think i had? No, but you should have! She can't sing worth a lick, but she is hot. It would have done you some good to tap her ass. You'd be able to bang a really hot babe who apparently liked you, and make her cum so hard that she would be begging to be your girlfriend. At any rate, you can get you freak on with Cassie and Nicole S., but stay away from Mariah , she's my woman.

Well actually it does. Katharine Mcphee was given material to sing on produced by Danja, and her vocals are better than any female in mainstream today. The same goes for Nicole her vocals are well above the material, and yet they are pairing her with TI and Akon, labels dont care how well you can sing, never have cared never will .
